Well I pulled a card on a camera in one of my farms. Looks like I am gonna have somthing to go after this year also... I also got a picture of this poor little fawn. Looks like the ticks are eating her up. While looking through the pics again I noticed somthing. Check out the box turtle walking by the big tree on the left side of the picture in the back.

I am honestly hoping he doesn't show on the first day. He is just big enough to cause a dilema. I would love to see him next year but he is pushing his luck...u.

Had birds gobbling all morning until 11 am. I never got a glimpse of a tom. I could hear them and they were close. But then all of the sudden I could hear the hens cackling all over. I figured I was done. I do ok calling but I cant compete with a bunch of live hens!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few pictures of my setup. I will be perched in there with my dad a tripod and video camera, my mathews and my dad holding the scatter gun. Wish us luck, I hope to post a good report this morning. I have a guy relieving me from work early so I can meet dad at the farm. Its one of the few things we get to hunt together being on different work schedules.

Went and picked up my 2 bucks from last year. They look great. I will have to get a few more pics with a good camera. I only had time to take a few pic's with my cell phone!!!

Well I swapped my card a day early since the rain was here and it would wash my scent away. I had 1,250 pics in 6 days. The bucks are still there and they are coming in during daylight alot. Here are a few pic's.
-
On my last card swap I had 809 pictures. I figured this much since I had trimmed my shooting lanes right before I swapped cards. It did rain a day later so I didnt disturb anything to much.

Thats great man!!!!! I would go to say the other big buck in the picture with him in next on the hit list. He looks awesome to. Just imagine him this season.

Well I borrowed my buddys boat and took the misses, my son and both dogs out to play on the sandbars for a while. We tried to get a few clams but it was very poor where I was trying. I guess I was in the wrong place. No big deal, we were having a blast. It was my sons first time on a boat. The tide was going out and we decided to move to the rt.1 side of the bay. On the way there I did some trolling since the wind was against the tide. I hit the slough right behind the island going into masseys ditch. We trolled it 3 times and had 4 keepers up to 22 inches. I was suprised. The wind kicked up and since the misses is 4 months pregnant I decided to call it a day before it got to choppy. It was a great day.

Thanks you all. I am very pleased with this bird. I have one mounted already thats a little bigger than him. I will be mounting the fan, beards and feet with a blown up picture of him alive underneath.

Well I thaught I had been snake bit as far as turkey hunting. I was wrong. Yesterday at 12 noon I had this nice tom come in with a buddy. The shot was 45 yards. He was 23 1/4 lbs, 2 beards 10 1/2 and 7 inch. He had 1 broken spur, it was 1 inch and the other was 1 1/2. Pictures to come!! Best yet my buddy called me when I told him I killed a double bearded bird and asked me if he had white on his fan. Well yes he did and he sent me trail camera pictures of him!!

Thats a pretty good idea stone cold!! I had not thaught of that. Sounds very interesting. I will be talking that idea over with my taxidermist this week!!!

Thanks all!! I am pretty excited about it. I found 2 more sheds today!! Thay were small though.

Well just like many of you all on here, I have been hard at it looking for turkeys. Well Wednesday I hit the jackpot. Not with the turkeys though. Many of you remember the 2 nice bucks I shot in november. Well while snooping around my lease wednesday I came across both sheds from the 9 point I shot. They were laying a foot apart. What are the odds. I know have video of him in velvet, a pair of his sheds from last year and his head will be on the wall. I think the sheds will score a little better than the buck did when I killed him. I am planning on cleaning them up and having them stained. Then I may put them on one of those fake skulls from cabelas or just hang them from a string under the mount. right side of buck I shot right side shed left side from buck I shot left side shed front view of buck I shot front view of sheds
