Recommended squirrel gun First of all, thank you for replying. I already own a Mossberg .12 But, I'm looking at two different H&R's, one a .410 the other a .20 gage. Of the two what are your preferences? What is the effective range of the .410?

Do you think that a .410 shotgun is suitable? I have a .12 gage but I don't want that much firepower. And what do you think of a .20 Gage for squirrels?

Guns? I thought I would use an air rifle, so I bought a .17. The problem is that .17 pellets go right through and lack the mass to kill squirrels. The fact is that I still haven't hunted squirrels yet. I sure want to though.

This has been an entire week hunting turkeys. We've had only one Gobbler call back and he didn't come closer than walking out it the woods. Otherwise, only dead silence. Not a sound of shotgun anywhere in the area. We've gone to several different State Forrests. (I did find some new fishing streams though ;-) ) Someone told my hunting buddy that the gobblers might have all the hens they want, and when the hens are pregnant and basically ignore the Toms then they'll start looking again. What do you think of that theory. Any ideas? This is my first hunting experience and I'm LOVING it anyway.
