  1. If he is shouldering his toy gun right handed already then it sounds like he is comfortable with it and you should encourage him to shoot that way. When he is older he will be able to try it left handed if he wants, and he will already have the baseline of a good shooting routine on the right side. I write, throw, shoot guns, and am predominantly left handed/ left eye dominant. But I can't swing a bat or club left handed to save my life, and naturally picked up a bow and started shooting right handed. He will figure it all out as he ages.
  2. The count is up to 13 dead as of this morning. Just heard on the news that we could have more of the same weather heading in later this week.
  3. Oklahoma under fire. Multiple tornados.... damage again, watch live Watch out bud, more headed your way.

All good here, the storms fell apart before they got to us. I am praying thanks that all of my family in the OKC Metro area was unaffected. Luckily, my sister and her family were able to sell their house in Moore and relocate across the city about 3 weeks ago. The old house was located less than mile from the tornado's path, and only 4 blocks from the 7/11 where a couple people lost their lives. More heavy storms are rolling thru the area this morning, so please continue to send prayers to all of the families and rescue workers.
  5. We were down in the cellar at 1145 with the rotation going right over the house. Luckily for us, it waited til it hit Broken Arrow before it really got wound up. Woke up to about 3" of standing water in half of the yard. Flooding....now there's something we haven't had to deal with in a few years. Glad to hear you guys made it safe.

    Big streamers

This is the time of year when we startheading over into Arkansas to chase big browns and rainbows on the White and Norfork rivers. You always have a chance of catching a big fish (18+inches) on nymphs midges and small streamers, but it's become pretty popular to throw huge streamers and keep the little ones at bay. 3-5" streamers are pretty common, but every once in a while you throw a 6-9" fly and it can get pretty interesting. Here are a few of my favorite flies that I've tied up in the last few weeks. Articulated patterns are my favorite.
  7. Thanks everyone, we're both very excited
  8. So I've somewhat fallen off of the face of the forums for a while, but I promise I've got a good reason or two. Fishing season starting up, tying flies, woodworking projects, and picking up an extra shift or two at work have been keeping me pretty busy. With a little sneakiness, one of my woodworking projects has been to develop my end tunring skills. I've had the tools for about a year, but haven't had a good reason to devote the time to a project. Until last week...Last week I set about making a special "capsule" type box. Once I figured it out and turned a good piece I finished it all up and hid it in the garage. Last night I placed a ring in it, got down on one knee and presented it to my girlfriend with a very special request. I'm happy to say that she said yes!
  9. Last August, 5 friends and myself drove up to Montana for a week of fly fishing and relaxation. 1500+ miles/25 hours later and we had reached the promised land. We did a little filming while we were there, and just recently one of us decided to finally get around to editing the footage. Here it is, and I hope you all enjoy it! Check us out at Chasing the Dream and follow along as we kick off our fishing season this coming weekend with a trip to the White River. The Montana Project
  10. Great news Corey! Congrats!

  13. Considering the night time temps here are barely getting down to around 35, I'm starting to wonder if we will have a winter at all! Considering a move north....
  14. You may not have quite the cool temps that we did, but you should have some birds. Looks like they are calling for another cool front after the weekend! Where are you hunting out west?
