  3. I was thinking of trying to montana's too based on price and ease of carry to the field. I just can't figure out the process of thought on how/where to place the decoy. I know the position has to be relative to my stand...but what other factors play in...also curious about how bad positioning could possibly spook the whitetail?
  4. thanks ruttinbuc, I called the Dept of Wildlife there, maps won't be ready till Sept this year...so hopefully I can get one by November. think I'll take a ground blind and a decoy....not sure if I'll get any trees for a climber to be effective in....
  5. thanks guys! I have been scouring google earth but like you said har to tell sometimes what a road is or isn't lol. In your experience is the WIHA usually marked with a easy to see sign?
  6. hey thanks a lot for the info and feedback, your welcomes are quite appreciated! I had been planning on jut taking a climber but maybe I'll look into a small pop up blind as well. What is a coolie?(Your best bet for getting a good buck is when he is using tree lines and coolies)
  7. Can anyone tell me on the Walk in Hunting Access (2009) maps that the Kansas Department of game has online, how do you find out more about the Units? I see one that is labeleb 116...but I cannot see any street addresses or anything. In Kansas do you have to let the owner know you plan on hunting their land or just show up n hunt? Thanks in advance.
