I think the reason they deny the existence of certain species is to keep the woods open for us. when they admit another species, [that is especially romanticized by the tree hugging bambi petters] it can result in major activism to get whole portions of national forest shut off from public use until s t u d i e s are done to determine...yadda yadda yadda .
