  1. Was close. Someone had a friend who does some "spotlight surveys" in that part of the county, but they never got back to me. Makes me wonder what kind of surveys they actually were. It it wasn't so close to the start of the season, I am tempted to take the mount up to that area and go from farm to farm asking the farmers what they know.
  2. Ha.....I will shock you......Because I WILL tell you. I would love it if someone else found a monster around there. It is Bunch Hollow CA in North Central MO. If you ever head out there...meet up with me, and I will take you to the exact spot. My pleasure!
  3. Thanks. Just went and had a buddy take some QUALITY head shots with a setting sun, in a barn. Wow, wait until you see them! And leaving the buck hanging on barn post and walking away....he gets bigger. I swear. It is like it needs to be in a big room to really see how big it is.
  4. Ha! But I bet there is some story behind this deer that some guy was chasing or some farmer has been watching. I only saw him for about 20 seconds alive.....and would love to find out more about him.
  5. I will refrain from posting the story online until after December. If you want the story, subscribe to Buckmaster's Rack Magazine. The story comes out next month in their October issue. And if you aren't a subscriber, the story will be in North American Whitetail's December issue which hits the newstands mid November.
  6. Had him scored last night. 193 7/8" Gross 181 1/8" Net Non-Typical
  7. Thanks guys. He was such a blessing. And to be on public land that anyone could have come across him, was just the blessing that proved it wasn't from our own strength.
  8. Thanks, man. It was an amazing climax of a blessing of a trying season. Hunting public land is HARD...and takes some serious dedication and divine intervention.
  9. Some people on other forums have made comments that they have seen the deer too many times (all pre mount pics). I will never tire of showing how God blessed me.
  10. Chad Johnson at Brookview Taxidermy in NW Illinois did a GREAT job with my buck. Some of you are sick of seeing this buck....but Chad's work needs to be seen.Amazing! That is my buddy holding the buck. He is too humble to be seen with the buck usually. He was an amazing part of the story.
