  1. What I'd give to see a buck like that with my bow in hand....I guess I'm going to have to save some money and take a trip out west or up north..We don't grow them like that much around here....Awesome buck my friend!
  2. I killed my first deer of the year last weekend. A big doe at 35 yards! So I am cocky as I can be when I took my son this morning. I get him settled in my little "hotspot" and wandered off away from him about 200 yards and climbed in a new spot. When she came out of the pine thicket she was 10 yards from me ,and behind a tree. I went to full draw and waited..First her head, then her neck, and then there was her big fat body standing broadside. I'm thinking about how bad the RAGE was going to hurt, and thinking about backstap and jerky and WHACK....I hit a limb. Bowhunting is AMAZING!! It goes to prove that when you see a deer with the gun the hunt is all but over. When you have a bow in your hands the hunt is just beginning.....I'll get her this weekend!!:bang:
  3. I've used the 2 blade since they came out and I LOVE them....Very nasty broadhead, and I haven't had a deer or hog run over 40-50 yards....even the 200 lb hogs I shot couldn't handle the RAGE... Good luck!!
  4. I'm always in the woods every chance I get...even on a full moon....I just have never had any luck during a full moon. I hunt hard, and I love being in the woods regardless. It is studies like the one mentioned above that I am talking about. Just curious on everyons opinion. After 30 years in the woods mine is still that I see a ton more deer on the way to my stand and driving to my property at 4:00am than any other time of the whole month, and I am hard pressed to see a single deer during the day, when I see deer every other time I go in the woods during that month....I KNOW it affects them here in my little neck of the country. I was just curious about other places...... I think deer behave different depending on where you hunt in the country...I'm amazed at all the hunting programs we have on TV now,and the way deer behave.I'd love to see some of the big names of the industry come to deep south and try to do what they are able to do on the milk river,Kansas,Illinois,etc.. It's a whole new ballgame. I'm not knocking ANYONE or their ability. Just saying it's different.

  6. I HATE hunting the full moon, and everything I have ever read on it says it helps deer movement. I simply have had very little luck over the past 30 years when hunting the full moon here in SC.....How does everyone else feel about this?? Is this all in my head? I know deer are more active during night, but I can't seem to get up for hunting on the full moon.....
  7. I love them!! I know some people have had negative comments,BUT it has to be from a bad hit on an animal(no shot at ones shooting skills) The amount of damage the Rage does is to massive for a well hit animal to go far...I have killed 5 deer and 2 hogs and none of the animals have gone over 40 yards and most have died within 20 yards..... I know there are exceptions to every situation, but I'll take the Rage any day of the week. The ONLY complaint I have is the blades comin out of the ready position in my quiver if I ever need a second shot....just wrap a little rubber band around it and it seems to work fine....happy hunting!
  8. Mathews DXT..70lbs/30"....Easton Axis arrows...tipped with Rage 2 blade....I have killed 5 deer and 2 hogs(200+) with this set-up and I am very pleased with the results.
