Do what works for ya.
I've had deer bust me from 75 yards after spraying down and wearing everything I own to eliminate odor. I've had deer walk directly under me while on the cell phone, smoking a cigarette in a pair of heavy $30 coveralls, (seriously). My guess is that some of the same type stuff has happened to everyone that sits in a tree stand. I'm a firm believer that stand height and wind direction have more to do with being busted than five or six hundred dollars worth of carbon, charcoal, sprays, non scent toothpaste or anything else you can spend money on. If you get lucky enough to put your stand on the downwind side of the deer, 15 feet high and see deer, you'll enjoy the hunt. Everyone says "place" your stand on the "downwind" side.... How exactly does anyone know in advance which direction a deer is coming from... I do understand "most likely", but then they turn right around and tell you to put out "doe or buck scent". don't that stuff end up going "downwind", exactly where "your" scent is going? We are making a great day in the woods way too complicated.
