I found it hard to get any service from the employees in the firearms section. Usually first impressions stick with me. I went in to buy a new rifle. I had in mind what I wanted and I found it. I don't know how many times some of the guys just walked by and didn't even acknowledge me. Or they were just standing around behind the counter talking to each other. Or they would ask a male that was shopping if they could help them. I could feel my blood pressure rising.....and I'm a red head. Finally I yelled,"HEY, I want to buy this rifle!" They weren't long getting to me after that. Then I told him to sell me a scope for it. ( I already knew what I wanted, but I wanted him to work for it since he pizzed me off.)
Following year, my boyfriend ( yes, I'm a girl) gave me $500 in gift cards to GM. I wanted a crossbow so we went shopping. My boyfriend was standing at one end of the counter while I was at the other end. I was there first. Guess what. The MALE behind the counter approached my boyfriend first to offer assistance. My boyfriend looked across at me, winked, and said, " Uh, she's the one you want to talk to." Few minutes later, the employee was ringing me up and I gave him the gift cards and some cash. As we said our thanks, the employee says to my boyfriend, "Now all ya gotta do is taker her huntin'." Oooooh, no he didn't. I just smiled and said, "He doesn't hunt. He stays home and sees that the porch light is on for me."
Sorry about the rant, buy these sort of things really get me. I usually shop for hunting supplies at local place. I try to support the ma and pa stores as often as possible.
