THE BIG NASTY

thank you all for the info and situations.. i took my father and a couple friends...we went everywhere and with no water near by we just kept a spiral pattern going and we were out there for several hours...but it did raind last night and with a mist going this morning while we were out there... after running through the situation in my head i believe that i just grazed her back and that she is not dead.. again thank you for all your helpful hints!

so tonight i connected an arrow to my first deer (a doe)... so i will try to keep this short,15 yards perfectly broadside but i was running out of good shooting light and did not see the arrow after i released. but did hear inpact and watched her run off (i had tunnel vision and do not know what she did upon inpact)waited a good 15 min and checked for my arrow and found it, now this is where my question comes in. The arrow had a small amount of blood around the fletching and had dark hair on the fletching as well and was just coverd in what i think is fat,and the arrow did not have anytype of foul order or any smell at all.WHERE did i hit her at?i could not find anytype of blood trail and backed out and goin out first thing in the morning.
