I've been deer hunting for 24 years now and have taken several deer over the years but yesterday I took my first muzzleloader deer. I shot this nice buck around 7:30 a.m. at only 20 yds with my .45 cal CVA.

North Central Missouri had above normal temps and some windy days for opening weekend of firearms deer season but the deer were still moving. My Dad and I took my two oldest kids out hunting with us, my daughter sat in the stand with me and we were able to take a nice mature doe and my son sat with my Dad in his stand but they didn't see anything (but my son still had fun).The second picture is a family friend that was hunting with us and killed his best buck to date, what a nice deer. We were all so excited for him.
