old timer He was sway backed and had a big ole belly on him. He was grey all over, almost white in some spots and could hardly get around. Not sure how old he was but he was definitely starting to go down hill. Also I was able to harvest a good size doe out of the same stand this morning. Taking my girlfriend out in the morning, been a great vacation week so far!!

Sitting in the stand this morning and seen a small buck coming toward me, the more I watched the more I could see he was stiff walking and sway backed. He was having a hard time getting around so I elected to shoot him. Once I finally got down to him I realized just how old he really was. He was great all over and only had 3 teeth. He was a narrow 6 point (no brow tines) he had decent size bases and signs of mass (maybe in his earlier years) The guy that processes my meat aged him at atleast 7. How accurate that is I have no clue. Gonna try and figure out how to post pics so you all can see

anxious Yea code blue is great, I seen a good looking 9 point around 8:30 this morning but he never came close enough. If he is back in the morning the ole CVA will sound off

anxious I believe it was special golden estrus. I got it at Walmart. The drip bag and scent came together for $20 I would prefer code blue or tinks but it seems to have done the job as well

After having somewhat of a tough early season hunting on my land (missed a doe and got busted by several others) I went to a spot that has been untouched for 3 seasons on Friday and put out a drip bag and made a scrape. I forgot my camera and went back in there on Saturday to find that my scrape had been raked out and pooped in. I work for Norfolk Southern so I am gone through the week, I'm pretty anxious to get home tomorrow and see what's in there! Saturday is the opener for muzzle loader here in tennessee but I'm hoping to get one Friday with my bow! Good luck to all you Illinois hunters, I'm working in Litchfield and have seen deer everywhere!! It's cold!

East Tennessee rut That's how it is up at my place. I am about 45 minutes west of Knoxville. Haven't really found a lot of buck sign though. I know they are out there cause I have 2 small 8 points and another shooter 8 point on my camera daily. Just aint finding much sign. I'm hoping they get started up soon.

Anyone seeing any rut sign or bucks chasing in mid-eastern tennessee??

I recently purchased a crossbow for my girlfriend. She has had several shoulder surgeries and is unable to pull a compound back. I shoot a compound with rage heads but I have no clue as to what broadheads to buy for her crossbow. Any ideas??
