  1. Mossberg 935 Thanks guys, i bought the gun and a Kicks .665 choke to go with it and i must say that i am thoroughly impressed with this gun so far. I thought it might would have a lot of recoil due to its light weight but it actually shoots very smoothly. At 40 yards it patterned pretty good too. Cant wait to try it out on ole thunder head next week!
  2. Turkey Fever Yesterday while driving home from work i passed a field with a newly built house in it. Also accompanied by 23 birds feeding. I had no choice but to pull over and sneak up through the public property to take a closer look. Counted 6 longbeards and 2 of them were in full strut the entire time i was watching. Id say about 15-20 min. Man that has really got me fired up!
  3. God is Great Awesome bird! Great job!
  4. Hey guys im thinking about buying the Mossberg 935 tomorrow. What do you guys think or know of this gun? Its all black synthetic stock with a 24" barrel chambered in 3" & 3 1/2". Thanks guys
  5. Calling Techniques My dad taught me most of those techniques long ago. And they still work to this day! If it aint broke dont fix it. But always be able to learn and adapt!
  6. Check this out This world we live in is falling apart more and more every second. Those idiots will be begging for us good ole country folk that know how to live off the land if something every happens to our country. Like an invasion or something! What fools!
  7. I shoot a Remington 1187 Super Mag with a 28" barrel and added to that is a Kick's .665 choke. Do you guys prefer a long or a shoot barrel for hunting turkeys and what might be some pros/cons? I know a short barrel makes it easier to maneuver if a bird comes in from an unexpected angle but i would like to hear some other opinions on the subject.
  8. Which arrows? I shoot the Beman ICS Hunters and i am pleased with them. Granted i shoot a Mathews Drenalin pulling 68lbs at 28" draw length. I fletch them with Blazer vanes and shoot the 2 blade 100g Bloodrunner or the G5 Montec also 100g. I have killed several deer with this setup and have always had good penetration. Good luck to you!
  9. almost... South Carolina's season opens April the first and the only thing left for this guy to do is put the gear in the truck and get in the woods!
  10. April 1st will open another chapter in my outdoor adventures as the 2013 South Carolina season opens. I can barely hold my excitement in! I have diagnosed myself with spring fever. I have already went through my vest at least 3 times checking and double checking to make sure that everything is in proper working order. Cleaned and checked my 1187 super mag and i cannot wait until opening morning! There is nothing like being out in the woods and working a mature tom and the thrill of having one shake the leaves on the trees when he sounds off to your sensual sounds of love. Is there anyone else out there that has been overcome by this fever such as i?
  11. Another Score and Age! 125 due to the lack of tine length on the right side. But def 3 1/2 yrs old. And def a shooter on my farm!
  12. Things are starting off a little slow in my area. Lots of does and young bucks moving but not a lot of mature buck activity. Hows things in other parts of the country?
  13. I shoot the green Nocturnals and grounded a doe with one two days ago! I wouldnt hunt without them!
  14. Well said! The Indians use to kill them with a stick and a string and a little rock! Speed is not the biggest factor, you also have to include penetration, comfort, and knock down power! just like shooting the lightest arrows for more speed, the are not always the most dependable when driving them through the thick hide of a whitetail.
  15. I have two pear trees that are about 15-20 yards from my back porch and also some sawtooth acorn trees that start at 15 and go all the way to about 80 yards from the house. The deer will literally fight over both of them. I've seen does stand on their back feet and almost even jump to get pairs down out of the tree!
  16. Couple New MO Bucks Man those are some good pictures! Cant wait to see the on the ground pics!

Nastiness... Another reason why i only drink water! Yuck!
  18. Early Season Deer Trends I hunt they middle of the Sumter National Forest and i have seen lots of activity as you have, gotten two nice buck on camera and seen loads of young deer. There are plenty of acorns here but just as you said they seem rather small this year as compared to years past. Hopefully this weather will cool off some and will bring us a little luck!
  19. Think he's been fighting? Yea either that or he was sleep walking and had a run in with a barb-wire fence! Lol
  20. excited Been scouting and hanging stands, trimming shooting lanes, practicing with the bow, season comes in here Sept 15 as well! Just hope the weather cools off some though!
  21. I shoot a Mathews Drenalin and so does my cousin. My dad shoots a Z7 and so does my other cousin, in my opinion anything with Mathews name attached to it is gonna be perfect!
  22. Thanks man, I got it at Walmart. It was only $50 but its been the best camera i have bought yet! And yes the 8 is definitely on my list for this year i hope!
  23. what kind of bow do you use? Mathews Drenalin! Best thing i ever spent my hard earned money on!
  24. Days Remaining Both of yall and anyone else that has served are hero's in my book! I am proud to say that i have the highest respect for both of you without knowing either of you. And as a father myself i know exactly what you mean. There is no greater gift than that of a child! Thank you both!
