sighted it this passed wknd and i'm grouping 2" at 80 yrds with 100grain pyrodex, 250grain powerbelt aerolites with federal 209 shotgun primers

thanks high country i'll try sighting it in ths wknd. do you think that theres a cleaner burning powder to help the shockwave load better after a couple shots?

hi i've shot the g5 montec fixed and the rage 2" expandable and find the rage shoots more accurately with passthroughs. deer died right in it's tracks last friday didnt go 2 yrds. personally i think the effective range on a deer is an ethical 40 yards or less because the xbow is louder than a bow and the animal will spook easier. i personally believe that a bolt will lose energy faster because they are heavier than an arrow but they are faster with more punch . you can get a block to fireoff at the end of your hunt or you can buy a biodegradeable let off arrow but you'll need lots so you'll be better off with a block. btw once sited in you can robin hood the bolts under 30 yrds oh and the fletching stayes glued to a carbon bolt better than an aluminium bolt if you're shooting a fast xbow
