This weekend I'll be doing my first DIY Mule deer hunt. I grew up hunting white tails in the Midwest from tree stands and what not. Anyway this weekend will be spot and stalk so any advice is welcome . Thanks in advance.

A fellow soldier and my self are looking for a duck and hog hunting spot near fort hood tx anyone have any suggestions of somewhere to go I would appreciate the info.

Anybody here ever hubt with the 556 for hogs? I know its a small caliber but I also know you cantv get ammo for it that will allow better penetration then the 223

What do you all think about using a 6.8 spc for hog hunting

My wife recently bought me a 30-06 And as far as the gun goes I love it so far the only problem is I Have a .270 and a 7mm mag both of those guns seem like they cover their "uses" better then a 30-06 does my question is Is there any ammo out there that would better suit the 06 then the 270 for deer. Or any ammo that would make it a better choice over the 7mm for large game?

So after a long long looooooonnnnnnnngggggg day at work yesterday I walked in my house in a slightly less then stellar mood before i could even shut the front door my wife asked me to go get my daughers clothes of the bed.. My opinion is all of the above.. I agree with both of you so with that being said why is every one so up in arms about the goverment taking away our arms? They dont have the right or power to do so.. They may think they do but its in ink, they dont. Atleast that my opinion.. You may think im a idiot however I served my country in both wars and it wasnt so i could come back just to have them take my weapons. Does any one else agree with me?

Im goin to keep my answer to my self for now.. But Do you think it means we have the right to own a rifle for gathering food, self defense or to form a militia like during the revolutionary war?

This is a little off topic but If someone came to your house and demanded you hand over your weapons with or without a warrent would you? Honestly I dont really care about my weapons however its the point that they are taking rights away if such a thing were to happen, therefor in no way shape or form would I hand over any weapon that was purchased legally.. That being said If most people out there didnt put up a fight either a physical or legal fight then it would be easy for the goverment do such a thing. The 2nd amendment wasnt ment so we could have hunting weapons it was ment for a well armed militia the same type of militia that won our independence. We the people shouldnt fear the goverment taking our rights away the goverment should fear the people taking their power away.

cheaper than dirt is selling their 30 rounds ar mags for $129 a piece... thats kinda high... good thing I have 29 of them

I dont live in NY any more however I did for 5 years and I do own several guns that would fall under that law... All I have to say is let someone try to take my weapons away or try to arrest me for a gun that was purchased legally... Like it has been said before this is only the beggining. If this shinanigans continues then we wont be the 50 states anylonger.. Now I could be way off here but I would like think that there is more people out there that wont stand for this...

last year more people were killed with hammers than weapons.. looks like they need to be outlawed aswell. And not to mention the amount of people that O.D. on heroin and other drugs looks like they need to be made illegal aswell, Oh wait they are. On the same day or maybe the day before the Sandy hook shooting a guy walked into a Chinese school stabbed and killed ( i dont know the exact number) alot of kids. The point is Its the person not the weapon you take away gun and they will use something else. Just becouse I take away a construction workers hammer doesnt mean he wont build the house, he will just use a screw driver instead.

is it possibl to turn a european mount into a shoulder mount for a reasonable price?

For the past 6 years, I have been serving in the military. Before this I was a avid hunter. I have been all over the place since i joined and have never had time to get to the woods or had a place to go. Well this year a good friend of mine invited me to hunt on his land This is the first buck I have taken since 2006 I was also blessed to harvest 2 doe's aswell so my freezer will be full for a while.
