  2. Well, who's heading out Saturday? I personally will be unarmed and mentoring my older son on his first deer hunt, I'm pretty excited to get him started on what is one of my favorite holidays. Good luck all!

    Weather change!

yep, West central MN has snow flurries the last two days. Chill is in the air, corn is coming off, and now my freezer is filling; arrowed a doe last night. Only thing bad about this time of year is that when its done we freeze for three or four months, but so it goes. Now just waiting on the ducks, and the Montana hunting trip. Happy hunting all!
  4. been out for 3 weeks here, found out i gotta re locate my deer. good luck all!
  5. Just as I was thinking, did not see any geese flying, few in area ( Probly because theyre still spread out). So did not really hunt at all. No shots heard either. Was be nice to get a few, but I can wait. Anyone hear of any luck?
  6. Minnesota has their first August goose hunt starting tomorrow. Just interested in knowing if anyone here has participated in these hunts, and what kind of experience it is. I' m thinking what I will do tomorrow is just head out and see if any numbers are around, then either seem em or set up for a possible pass shot. Not going to get too serious because number one there is no open fields yet and number two they aren't real concentrated yet. That's my plan anyway. Anyone from Minnesota heading out?
  7. New to this site, not duck hunting tho. Been duck hunting for around 17 years. Don' t need to break the bank to be successful. In my experience blending in is big, but making sure everything you have with is at least a dull, natural color is huge. Not moving is huge. Ducks can see extremely well. Location is big as well. Don't get discouraged when you use up 10 shells with out a bird...ive spent many more. Other than that, have a heckuva good time! Waterfowling is a very fun sport to participate in. Being wet, cold, and overtired is all worth it and part of the fun.
