My first bow kill was on opening day on September 26 in Tennessee. I shot about a 115" 8 pointer. Early season can be the best time to go in and catch these bucks off guard before they are alerted to hunter presence. Last year I had some really nice bucks showing up on my trail cam in august and I was in and out of those woods a lot to put corn out and check my camera. I never did bust any of the bucks coming in and out but they must have detected my presence because I never saw one of those bucks again, on camera or in the stand. So this year I will make sure to put out a feeder and not check my camera so much, and when I do I will have camo and scent protection.
