  1. There is a lot of success stories. Tells you what reporters are seeing in your areas and across the state. It's all by regions. Lots of good deer pics.
  2. It's not that I rely on it. It's cool ap for deer activity across the country. I like to read about the different areas. Such as South Texas, Ozark's, North East ect. What kind of food crops and temperatures.
  3. What do you all think of the F&S rut report? It seems it's always about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks behind in my area. Even the author for the articles. He writes his peace at the last minute. With that said all the articles are very good. I like to read them setting on the stand. I would like them to be a bit more timely.

Your right. In the past with with large crop yields we harvest less. Not that we didn't per sue them. They were totally nocturnal. Food source was next to bedding areas. There was so much food source they didn't have to travel far.

    Fawns

Usually I see fawns in June with the mommas at the mineral sights. I haven't been getting any on camera till last week. Just one every now and then. Now I'm seeing the all over the place. The Biologist claim we had an unusual early rut last year. Our rut is around the second or third week of November Also. I have seen a lot more browsing and deer sign on our property this year. At the same token we have an abundance of fruit bearing and acorns from the amount of rain this summer. Hopefully we will have a good season this year.

    Fawns

I have been seeing a bunch of small spotted fawns lately. They have been all over East Texas and North Louisiana. I think the bucks bred later last year than what the Wild Life and Fisheries thought. They were saying the rut was the last week of October. Just now seeing fawns on the salt rocks that has been out since May.
  10. We can bait here in Louisiana. I don't hunt over bait when I'm bow hunting. Rifle season I hunt the feeders and food plots. We bait to keep the does close. Hoping to catch a buck passing through looking for that hot babe. Also I have my nieces and nephews with me most of the time. They are from 5 to 12 years old. They are my hunting buddies. So I keep the feed on the ground so they can have something to look at. You have to keep them interested.
  11. Even when we had mast crops the deer still hammered the rice bran. A good friend of mine used BB2 by J&J. He had bucks he never seen before coming to it . He had a really good season last year.
  12. With all the rainfall we have had. I've noticed all the nut trees are full. The hickory, black walnuts, and oaks are all full. Even the seed pods on the black locust trees are full. Going to be hard hunting with corn this year. Three years ago corn rotted on the ground when we had a large acorn crop.
  13. Be honest with you!! Who cares? It's camo and deer hunting! I joined a forum on hunting and it's as bad as Facebook. I don't care what they are wearing. Who's name brand yuppy, sissy folk junk as Phil Robertson would say. I'm a worm dirt dipping, beer drinking, Larry the cable guy dressing red neck in camo. Who lives, sleeps, and breathes deer hunting! I'm building stands, cleaning shooting lanes, and food plotting every chance I get. I hang cameras, bow stands, and feeders. I have yet heard or read any of that here. This Is suppose to be hunters and not trying to save the world reality crap! Horns are growing, fawns are dropping, and acorns are growing. It's time to start talking deer!
  14. I find the the Polaris and Can-am is the best down here. They are pricey. The Polaris Ranger has a bench seat. I see more of them on trailers up and down the roads. My buddy a Massimo purchased one from tractor supply. It's a 500 4x4 for 8,000 at tractor supply. It's the same guy who designed Yamaha's. He got mad mad left and started his own co. Supposedly Yamaha's parts are interchangeable with the Mossimo. We have ravines and large hills and it's handling them fine. I'm impressed with it for the difference in pricing with the major brands.
