  1. I carry on and off the job, always. Every able law abiding citizen should be carrying.
  2. That is what I call a fine shooting rifle! Congratulations on the fine build and work!
  3. My .22s are sighted in at about 40 yards for small game hunting. My .17 HMR and .my 17 WSM, about 50 yards for the same reason. My main game is tree squirrels and secondary, rabbits and varmints.
  4. I have been hunting with my .17 WSM Savage BMAG for over a year now and have had great success. I am wondering if anyone else here has anything to share about their .17 WSM rifles.
  5. I hope Bobby and the others take the offenders to the cleaners and nails their hides to the wall. He has solid grounds for a great lawsuit.
  6. Yeah on that! That looks a lot like one of the patrol trucks I drive. It is a great truck.
  7. I bought a new '94 Toyota T100 4X4 and at about 50,000 miles, power steering pump died. After-market pump had better offer than factory replacement. I traded that truck for a new '01 Tundra and had no problems. It got traded for an '06 Tundra and absolutely no problems. Our patrol trucks at work are mostly 4X4s. They are Chevys and Fords, and one big older 4X4 Dodge that I like to drive. Most of our trucks are new, furnished by Uncle Sam. With proper service, we don't seem to have many going in for repair. Our patrol cars don't hold up as well, for obvious reasons.
  8. It's like -7 or so below 0 here in SE Iowa, with the wind chill factor. It reminds me of living in Alaska before I got married. I'm darn glad I don't have to work today.
  9. Ha ha, tamed them right down, proper, XT! A few hours before I went on duty a while back, one of our day shift Lt's went to check out a big male bobcat snared around its middle, was caught with a too long length of wire. It was on top of a tall high security fence and tangled up with the top strands of barbwire. The cat was maniac crazy. Boss tried to club it without success because he left HQ without his issued sidearm. He had to drive some miles back to HQ, strap on his sidearm, and then go shoot the cat. Years ago I worked for an airline. On occasions, we received pets. Dogs were fine but cats in the cages were like crazy rabid animals. we couldn't offer cats water or food due to a real risk of personal injury.
  10. Nice going, Mudcreek! You get around, fella. Sincerely, Old Hickory
  11. You fellas offer some good suggestions. I have been making custom knives for over 25 years and I use an Edgemaker Pro for a quick field edge. I have passed out the same sharpner to many of my clients. With its bright orange handle, it's also easy to keep track of. No, I do not sell them.
  12. Very nice, Shaun! My brother has a .220 Swift and swears by it.
