    We had a lot of vocal bucks early in the rut, but then it really died off until the late second and even third rut cycle.

    I posted a video before, here is another video of a nice buck responding to a grunt in the early rut. I know many are reserved about calling but I use bleat and grunt sequences heavily in the rut and called many deer in.
