My sons first ML combo from Cabelas

Cabela's had a deal I couldn't pass up. Bought a Traditions Timber Ridge 50 cal for 89.00! Yea 89.00 for a new ML! Then bought a Cabela's Alpha series 2X12X40 scope with 4 inch eye relief for 79.00 (normally priced at 150.00). After rings the set up cost me $199.00. My 8 year old gets to see it for the first time tonight.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's a shooter! Will post a picture later. I wanted the Nikon Prostaff 3X9X40 with the Nikoplex reticle for $99.00, but it was not in stock. I was pretty upset about it since I called before going over there and the guy said he had a bunch of them. Cablea's also informed me on the phone they would honor online bargain cave prices. Then when I got to the register they said no. Well, after some hard looks and a snarl customer service said they would honor the sale price this one time only. It worked out, but next time I'll be getting the name of who I speak to on the phone.

If anyone uses one or both of these I'd love to hear how you like them or any tips.

I have never shot that particular gun, but we have no less than 6 Traditions MZ in our family. All are good shooters. We play a lot and are competitive amongst each other. I won't reveal my favorite load, but you will discover it, if you experiment a bit.

What better way to educate a youngster. Congratulations to you and your son. Here is hoping you share many years of shooting together.
