Hate to call anyone anything, but safe to say here the only ones some people really fool are themselves. What is truly sad is that there are some who follow them not knowing any better. Jeramie
Granted I'm sure God isn't happy with the way our nation and the human race is headed. However, I strongly believe he is no less dissatisfied with those lunes. If I wasn't a God fearing man I would suggest something involving leather, warm water, and an ant pile. GWSmith
Anyone can call themselves anything...does not mean they are what they say they are. Arizona state lawmakers are also scrambling -- to pass a bill that would order protesters to stay 300 feet away from the funeral. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, the lead sponsor on the bill, said in an e-mail to colleagues that the plan is to suspend the rules Tuesday and fast-track the bill to protect the victims' families from the "hateful protest" from the Westboro Baptist Church. Thats an insult to everyone...it should be made: COMPLETELY ILLEGAL to protest ANY FUNERAL SERVICE.
Dawg
I go to church and go faithfully, am of the Baptist doctrine and I can tell you these people are following the false teachings of a false prophet (preacher). Everything that spews out of their mouth is corrupt and false. They give good hearted, caring, faithful folks a bad name.
wtnhunt
That has the potential to get ugly, not at all what that poor family needs. Would be nice to see the westboro group stopped without any violence. Gotta agree with Gary too, should be illegal to protest any funeral. buckee
I agree Gary. The Westboro Baptist Church has proven they are nothing more than a cult of wackos.

Thats an insult to everyone...it should be made: COMPLETELY ILLEGAL to protest ANY FUNERAL SERVICE. One father took them to court and won, but lost an appeal and is going before the supreme court sometime in the future. At least this is what I read over on City-Data.com. The big deal here is freedom of speech. However, this is not how it was intended to be use! They haven't been back to Oklahoma since the McAlester incident. If it were my sons funeral....God have mercy on my soul....no threat. Just a promise.
Newarcher
I am convinced that the so-called pastor fred phelps is gay. I really truly believe that he's doing all of this as a way to try to exercise his demons. I won't open the discussion into what God thinks because that would be applying my understanding of the world and how it works to God. That would be limiting God. But I can point to one of 1,000 verses they are violating. God will deal with them. It does make you scratch your head that kooks shoot the 9 year old innocent girl and others making a difference in the world and these people breathe on.
