One tough dog...

I've been a practicing vet for almost 20 years now and saw a first today.

One of my clients came running into the clinic holding her bloody dog in a panic screaming that his leg is missing. Examine the dog--which is in shock--and sure enough there is a hole where the front left leg was. The dog stuck it's leg through the fence and the neighbor's dog actually pulled the entire leg off the body of the dog---including the shoulder blade.

Treated the dog for shock then a couple hours later did surgery to repair the hole. As of now dog is doing well under the influence of strong pain meds.
