mike
I know, I know, I shouldn't have bought a dodge to begin with:p:D:D Anyway, I have an '05 durango and it won't hold the cruise. Say I set it on 75 and come on a hill or something, it will run down like 6 miles an hour than kick all the way down in what I would call passing gear to catch back up. Even won't hold a speed bucking a head wind. I find that odd. Any ideas of what it could be?
jcot2773
Dodge's cruise. Dodge designed that cruise control with flat road and no head wind lol. Poor design but they all do it, and it will shift down to the lowest gear possible to pick speed back up. Typically I wont use the cruise in my ram unless it is perfectly flat road. I can't remember if the cruise on your truck is fully electronic or vacuum assisted. I do know there were some issues with mini-vans about that era which had a vacuum reserve tank built into the battery box! The tank would develop cracks or holes and the vacuum reserve would be lost. I'll research this and try to get you an answer. Has it always been like this, or is this something it just started to do? Lynn
SourthenILdeerhunter
my dad has a 09 dakota and the cruise works perfect going up or down a hill never had any problems out of it
LETMGROW
There is a vacuum reserve tank mounted on the inside of the left inner fender next to the master cylinder. Sounds to me like the reserve tank may have a leak somewhere. There are also 1 or 2 check valves which could be plugged or leaking. I'd look here first. I appreciate the input bud! I really like the durango other than a couple small issues. It is the largest small suv out there in our opinion. For the size it seems to have alot more room in it than any other suv we looked at
