birdhunter39
a friend of mine has one , he said it's better then not smoking
mike
I had a cousin that used them. No smoke what so ever just water vapor, he said it never really scratched though so to speak. It sounds like a healthier alternative but by no means healthy I don't think. Gets rid of the second hand smoke issues.
ruttinbuc
Are these supposed to help you quit smoking or just a new fad to make like it is cool to smoke? They had a similar device years ago that was to help wean you off of cigarettes. Didn't last long.
HUNTINGMAN
Guy I work with has one and says he likes it pretty good. Just puts off vapor instead of smOke but you still get the nicotine. Said one cartrage is like the equivalent of a Carton of cigs and cost him 60$

Everywhere you go is no smoking now, but these are legal to use in public I believe.

I tried them to compare em to the real thing and the taste is different and theres zero buzz. Thats usually why they fail.

clrj3514
My uncle uses the Blu- http://www.blucigs.com/ Gives you nicotine but only lets off water vapor. The cartridges come in different flavors & can be purcased in different strengths if you want to wean yourself off the cigs.
mike
I tell ya what, if its anything someone can use to kick the habit, more power to them. Even if your not using it to quit I guess it eliminates second hand smoke. I myself managed to kick the habit 5 yrs ago.
ruttinbuc
I am going on 12years of being tobacco free. It is quite an addiction. Regardless of methods used in quitting, it is mind over matter that eventually wins the day.
mikebohio
cant kick the habit no matter what i try. this is suppose to be a harmless alternative. the fda refuses to test them so the harmlessness is suspect.
The Bug House
Like I mentioned in previous posts, I facilitate smoking cessation classes, I'm also a Registered Respiratory Therapist. The FDA has tested the ingredients in the cartridges, but not the effects of using the product, or or smoking cessation rates of success with the product. However, there are some Physician groups that feel they may be a legitamit nicotine replacement therapy, and are urging the FDA to reclassify. Unlikely IMO. Frankly due to the lack of regulation and somewhat shady manufacturers, I'd be hesitant to use or recomend e-cigs. I'd be concerned about infection, inhaling aerosol of any sort dramtically raises the chances of infection. And keeping something like this sterile, seems just about impossible. Talk to your Doc, He/She may very well recommend something you heven't tried yet, perhaps even the e-cig.

Dawg
Wouldn't inhaling water vapor like that increase the chance of pnuemonia or the likes of it?
toddyboman
My in-laws have them......this is what I have observed and been told.... YOU can buy "blank" cartridges and then supply the flavor you want and the amount of nicotine you want. Or you buy cartridges with or without nicotine. You can use them in public places. They are suppose to help you stop smoking. They are not as unhealthy as the real thing.
Tecumseh
When I gave the cigs up 11 years ago I just quit cold turkey,I climbed the walls for the first 4 days and things slowly got better as time went on,The wild thing about it is I still get cravings from time to time for one all these years later. stevebeilgard
i'm thinking that these are just another temporary crutch. they may even be dangerous. there are just too many options now that help you quit. go with one of these and just quit altogether. i know. it's easier said than done. having done it, i know what i know. Couldn't agree more, Steve. It is a whole lot easier said than done. The main thing is it can be done. Far too many people get caught up in the ills of society. Peer pressure and the enabling of it all by Madison Avenue is a tough nut to crack. Anything in moderation is supposed to be OK, but who draws the line on moderation? Shaun_300
Sure is a tough habit to kick. Last year when I was in the hospital they gave me the nicorette inhaler, that helped a lot. Didn't crave at all when I was on that with the combination of the patch. Not sure if this is what this e-cig thing is, but if it's the same thing, it works.
