I am pretty sure that ......

I figure that the weather networks and all department / supermaket stores are in a pack together. Whenever it gives any kind of a storm, the weather people build it up to be a major disaster, for the last few days they have been reporting of a northeaster and alot of snow to be dumped on us. Yesterday afternoon the two major supermarkets here were crazy, people were going like chickens with their heads cut off .......... batteries, propane and cart loads of food, I know it's good to be prepared, but people seem like they never get prepared till the last minute.

As it turns out, we never saw a snow flake, lots of rain and some wind but nothing like the hype they were forcasting.

And I'm pretty sure that the next storm that will be forcast, the same people will be out in full force getting ready all over again.

So do they ever say, "This forecast brought to you by Tyson Foods." Or anything similar? :clown:

I cant understand why people want milk and bread... Im usually the only one checking out with charcoal and steaks :D

Its Milk, Bread, and Toilet Paper down here. Don't get me wrong, I live with three girls/ women. I understand the TP but the three combined?

I'm guessing there is some cold/ doomsday type of ritual in which I am unaware.

It's panic also here in Pa. when snow or the mention of it is said.

Not everywhere in PA, that is a SE PA thing...LOL. Up here in the NW we get too much lake effect snow to panic that many times. I am pretty sure the guy that made the snowbrush attached to a glove and a snowblower lived near a east side of a Great lake. Snowblowers they do sell out of up here.

Kind of funny a co-worker here was up on his roof after one of the lake snow storms and I asked if he was worried about the weight of the snow, and he said "no my TV dish was covered up and I can't watch TV "...priorities I guess.

Eggs , milk, bread ...like I heard a guy on the radio say one day..."why does eveyone make french toast when it snows????"

I agree with original poster, it is worked up to 1. make people watch the news 2. sell stable goods.

"Winter Weather Watch", "Winter Storm Warning" "Severe Weather Alerts"...we use to just call it snow.
