92xj
I don't go in for all that swirling the wine and letting it breath garb, I just enjoy a glass of wine once and awhile. Joe would know more about the other aspects of it and if it makes a difference or not hmmm....I think it's something I would like to train myself to like and drink but I just cant do it yet, have not aquired that taste yet. I do try it every time I am out and people around me are drinking it, to see if I can finally do it, but it hasn't happened yet.

Lots of different kinds Ben, some sweeter than others, some dryer than others. Best bet is to find a friend that knows wines and tell them what you like or don't like and they can quide ya through it.

92xj
I have been told to stay on the cheaper wines when starting out, if you dont like cheap wine, there is no way you will like expenseive wine. But I have no idea how true this is.

92xj
Whats your favorite meal of all time? And what would you say is the worst thing you have ever eaten? Is this directed at me Mike? If so.... My favorite meal of all time would be buscuit and gravy, eggs over easy and bacon and liverpuddin. The worst thing I have ever eaten is not a food product, but I do not like tomatoes, grits, sweet tea or big fat dru beans.

92xj
Do I even wanna know what liverpuddin is? (vomit smiley needed here) It's some good stuff, made by neeses. Its only found in the carolinas I think. havent seen it anywhere else, but its amazing. I get mom to ship me some out here every now and then. When you come, I will cook some up for you. You have to try everything at least once. I think you will be surprised.

Jeramie
Whats your favorite meal of all time? And what would you say is the worst thing you have ever eaten? Portabella Marsala. It was actually delicious on the way down. I had a severe stomach bug, didn't know it. I started throwing up at 9:30 and didn't quit until 4:30a.m. After several hours of dry heaving I decided I didn't care for portabella Marsala. (That was about three weeks ago). Well, either that or the time I ended up in the hospital from being exposed to E-Coli from eating at a really good local restaurant. I ended up in the hospital for three days because of what turned out to be one of the largest E-Coli Outbreaks in history. When blood comes out both ends you pretty much regret what you ate. They blamed the restaurant but a patron brought it in....

Jeramie
I have been told to stay on the cheaper wines when starting out, if you dont like cheap wine, there is no way you will like expenseive wine. But I have no idea how true this is. Somewhat true. Cheaper wines are typically (typically) milder and have a less alcoholic flavor. The longer they sit (especially if opened) the stronger it gets. If you really want to try it find a local winery, buy a bottle of flavored (like blackberry). If you don't like that you probably will never like wine, at least in my experience anyway. Wine is the only adult drink I will drink. I quit years ago but every now and again I can appreciate a glass with a good meal. It also is somewhat of a necessity with my job. Depending on where you are a lot of customers order wine for the table. In a lot of cultures turning down a gift is very rude, whatever the reason. Jeramie
whats a little e-coli between friends Unfortunately it was between many, many friends. We eneded up filling up a couple of local hospitals and were on lockdown to keep from spreading it.

Jeramie
Speaking of which, how's your health recovered since then? Diagnosed with Fatty Liver Disease (totally unrelated but was found because of the E-Coli when they looked at my liver and ended up doing a biopsy). Its genetic but has the same effect as being an alcoholic. The only cure is to lose weight. I'm down 22lbs and my enzymes are normal. I have about 15 more to get to my fighting weight. People with fatty liver don't carry much fat on the outside but the fat bands around the liver and can literally cause cirrhosis. I weighed in at 212 and my liver was covered. I'm down to 190 and it looks much, much better. I need to be around 175 - 180 max.
