Turkeygirl
:poke: So some of you may remember last year I got a fly rod and reel for steelhead from Cabelas, and I was able to land one and lost several. Well when I first got the reel, for some reason I thought it was on left hand and I had to convert it to right hand. Well I noticed when steelhead fishing, it was like I had no drag tension...the fish took off and my line was out like a flash. I had no control of the fish. I thought maybe it was the "disc drag", lol. I'm still new to fly fishing kind of so bear with me:turned: Today I'm tying up some sucker spawn flies in prep for steelhead season and decide to pull my reel out and clean the line and see what the deal is with the drag. Well I then find out it had really been right hand in the first place and I had changed it over to left hand! DUH. So I flip the nut/ball bearing over that converts right to left, etc and presto! My reel has an adjustable drag! LOL:o:stupid: I'm so excited now for steelhead season, knowing that my reel is now working the way it's suppose to be and I will actually have drag tension on my line when a fish takes the hook... Duh Ruth, duh...:boo:
