HarvDog
Re: Treestand stealer? I only have two stand (1 ladder and 1 hangon) out at my buddies property. Since it's private property and not really that big, no-one is usually back there. So, we haven't had problems with people stealing stands. horst
Re: Treestand stealer? Actually no i havent{shouldnt say that out loud, I havent been out to pull miney yet this year }A buddy of mine built a homemade ladder stand out of heavy re rod.The thing must wieghed close to 200 lbs.He put it out a mile from the nearest road before the crops were in.After they were planted there was no way to get a vehichle back to it, he hunted it all through the early season and with all the snow we had once again you couldnt drive back to it.Somebody, or more likely several somebodies, drug that heavy, awkward, home made, ugly, ladderstand clear out ofd the section before the late season opened up.you could see in spots where they had drug it through the snow clear up to the road. After that i reached the conclusion if they want it bad enough theyre gonne take it.All you can do is lock em, take your steps out when you leave at night, and hope for the best
craig mack
Re: Treestand stealer? I've had tree stands, tree seats, and even tree steps stolen. I hate it thats why I use a climber when I hunt in Southern Michigan. I've seen some many tree stands in the woods and I've never taken anything. I just can not understand why people have to mess with someone elses property. The last time someone tried to steal one of my buddy's stands but it was locked, in the process they left their rattling antlers from a 10 point buck. Serve's them right for trying to steal.
