I hate!!!!

I HATE lazy people that have the same job title as me, make more than I do but sit at their computer and dont do jack. Don't ask for work and just wait for it to come to them. If I could fire people I would do it in a heartbeat, not giving a dang what their life was outside of the work place. If you're not going to work, you dont deserve to get paid, period!

If I am ever your boss and you have nothing to do and do not come to me to ask for work, you're fired. If you play on facebook on your phone because the company blocks it from your computer, you're fired. If you slurp coffee insanely loud, eat 38 apples a day and chew with your mouth open, suck on sunflower seeds, eat a WHOLE deep fried chicken, with 3 biscuits, mashed potatos, mac and cheese and a super duper jumbo large sweet tea while claiming to be on a hardcore diet, you're fired. If you are too lazy to load paper into a printer and wait for someone else to do it, like me, and then print your birthday cards out, you're fired.

I love my job but hate my office sometimes.

*end rant*

Ohhhhh boy does this pretty much sum up my feelings on the younger persons work ethic compared to mine.

I work as a Instrument electrician and have seen 3 guys hired to "work" with me and I would not give you a plug nickle for any of them.

1 Hour lunch breaks instead of 1/2 hr. 1/2 hr to 45 min breaks instead of 15 minutes, and start work 1 hour after actual start time.

Yes my company needs to grow a set of you know what but it seems not to matter to them.

Ok I will stop now.

It sums up my thoughts on the older persons work ethics compared to mine. These people are twice my age. The young people here are trying to bust their balls to get work done, be recognized and move up in the ladder, but these old lazy people are sitting in the way.

That's what it boils down to......your displeasure with sweet tea. So un-American.

What about being on Realtree forums ranting when you should be working? Just asking............

I find your post and comments offensive to me, i am 64, retired from ibm, served in the air force for this country, and you think you way or work ethics is the right way..as for busting balls, you comments of this forum are offensive, Like someone said your at work and on this site, that's not multi tasking, that fooling around.

No where was I comparing my work ethics to your work ethics, unless you work with me as a co-worker. I don't think thats the case. You dont know my work ethics and I sure dont know yours and would never comment on yours without seeing you work. I'm sorry you took my post as a personal attack, being that you are across the country from me and have never worked with me. I dont really get where you got that from, but thats ok. I apologize for you thinking that.

I would assume you're talking about this comment right here.

It sums up my thoughts on the older persons work ethics compared to mine.

It's funny that I get bashed when it was the exact opposite of this comment that was posted in this thread.

Did I jump on Kirk, saying I took offense because he thinks my work ethic is horrible? Nope, I know he was not attacking me personally. He doesnt know how I work and by throwing his opinion out there of the younger work force that works with him, I did not take offense to because I dont work with him.

Its obvious to me that Ben was merely referring to the work ethics of the people in his office and was in no way making remarks to older people in general. The only personal attack I saw here was yours, sorry. By the way Thank You for your service sir, I have the utmost respect for our veterans.

I know what you mean about people not pulling their own weight Ben, I can't stomach it myself.

Sounds like you were speaking of the people in the facility with you. Not older people in general. That's the way I read it.

I know, I seriously dont try to post stuff to create some sort of thread train wreck but it sure does seem to turn into that around these parts. Oh well. Thank you for seeing it my way and understanding where I am coming from.

As I tell my kids....don't worry about the other guy.

I've worked with people who completely had their happiness and peace stolen by worrying about things just like this. As a result, their attitude suffered and I have even seen one who self-limited his career by making management mad with all of his griping.

As I tell my kids.....work as hard as possible, as smart as possible and as consistently as possible. Do good things consistently and good things will happen for you. The other people will limit themselves and take care of themselves.

Very true and I thank you for your words. One thing I do not do is gripe and complain to my employer or other employees in the office, I figured thats why I have RT. It just gets so dang frustrating sometimes.

Yeah...my son gets very frustrated in school with projects to the point he'd almost rather do all the work on a group project himself to avoid having to work with the group. He has an overactive fairness clock so I am trying to beat these ideals into his head.

If nothing else, I am sure that management sees the same thing you do and it SHOULD give you a leg up when competing with them for jobs in case of layoffs, etc.

I've always had a good work ethic....I do goof off but my job allows it and I always end up working more hours in evenings/weekends. I've always worked to a standard that allows me to go home with my head held high and proud of my effort and accomplishments. I've found that my standards are so high that it gets me down the road.
