WHISKEYSWAMP
I'm trying to learn as well... I shot a coyote last week and will try that for my first tanning experience. I ordered the trappers tanning kit from Fosters Taxidermy Suppy and hope to give it a go this weekend. http://www.fostertaxidermysupply.com/TAXIDERMY-SUPPLIES-fosters-taxidermy.html

RTF
Tanning is not that hard at all. There are many write ups on the net about doing it and a few youtube videos showing you the procedures. Basic steps to tanning are, fleshing hide, salting hide, pickling hide, neutralizing hide, tanning hide followed by drying and break-in. brudaman340
I have done 2 deer hides and all you have to do is make sure all the meat is off the hide then if you buy a tanning kit it will have all the directions. its simple just takes a little time. I did both of mine with van dykes curatan and one hide i did in 06 and there is nothing wrong with it and the other is perfect still 2 years later. Coon skins need a little extra work cause there oily skin. you just have to soak them in water with dish detergent and i believe coyotes are the same. rabbits have thin furs so be careful not to tear or rip it when fleshing. Taxidermy.net has alot of info also.
shockwave
Take your time fleshing the fat and meat off of the hide. the better job you do now, the nicer it will come out. if it were me i would use krowtann 2000, i`ve used it on everything with pleasing results..
