Anything fun in that area? From what I could tell from google maps, its surrounded by a National Forest. Should be some decent huntin! texastrophies Posted January 20, 2011 Report Share Posted January 20, 2011 Not sure where Cherry Point is, but if you are close to Charlotte, and enjoy nascar racing, there are numerous shops & such that you can visit. And towards the western side of the state, we went to the town of Cherokee. Believe it is in the Smokey Mountains, interesting place. Kind of a tourist town, but still interesting. Have a play about the Cherokee Indians Trail of Tears. Close to there, East of it, there is an amusement park, think the name of it had Ghost in it. You ride a ski lift up a mountain to it. huntnfish Posted January 20, 2011 Report Share Posted January 20, 2011 NC has beaches, mountains and everything in between. Cherry Point is very close to the coast and the Outerbanks. Morehead City would be a short drive which means great saltwater fishing. Hunting should be pretty good around there also. Should have deer, bears, hogs and turkeys.
