ruttinbuc
After a week of trying it took a carefully placed dose of dried peanut butter to catch this mouse. It was swiping everything else i tried from bread to orange peel. As small as it may seem it was joy to see this little germ carrier in the trap....:toot: I had a plan for this to put my game camera on it to see what would show up. I threw the mouse out in the snow from the window. By the time I got the camera and went outside something nabbed it....:bummed: The Thrill of victory and the agony of defeat...all in about 10 minutes...:paint:

Adjam5
Funny the sense of accomplishment we get from trapping or outsmarting something so small, but so significant . Congrats Mike.

Tominator
I love killing that vermin too. Thankfully, they haven't found a way into the new house....yet. BTW--bit of a Ritz cracker or a single sunflower seed always works for me.
Tominator
Forgot to mention....I tossed one outside and I watched a crow swoop down and nab it once.

ruttinbuc
Thanks guys. It was quite the test of wills, lol! This little bugger knew just how to defeat that trap. No matter what I put out it got away with it.The mouse was making me nuts, or at least more than what I already am. I could only imagine what the neighbors were thinking if they happened to hear me! :clown: Anyway, I went and finished the Whitetail fanatic hunt today. Long story short it was cold 15 degrees. The deer were even more spooky than last week. The noise of the tiny velcro to open a mitten turned a doe I was going to shoot inside out. Almost had a fox come in which was cool to watch. Had a bunch of deer coming in at dark only to be busted by unseen deer coming in behind us. Oh well, It was fun, but just not meant to be. ruttinbuc
Yea, baby! I 'm on a roll. These mice like peanut butter to death..... This is not quite the trophy as the first one, but I am not about to complain. He don't need another year!
RangerClay
Congrats on the capture! My son and I have a trap line down in the cellar. Try this sometime. If you really want to make the trap irresistable, stick one piece of D-Con in the peanut butter. I don't know what they put in the D-Con but mice cannot go by without trying to take it.
