jcwa
I decided to do a little trapping. I set out five leg hold traps. I caught two coyotes but one was able to get out of the trap. Here is a pic of the unlucky one.
Ethan Givan
Congrats on the yote. Fences like that one in the pic make for some good spots to sets snares for coyotes too, if you can find where they are crossing thru.

redkneck
Nice work. That's what I'm after, but only thinning out the foxes right now.
Strut10
There's a good one. Congrats on the catch!! Get him in a dirthole??
jcwa
Get him in a dirthole?? Yes, I used a dirt hole set. I made a small shovel to make a 2" hole. I just push and twist it in the ground, it makes a perfect hole. It works great.
jcwa
Nice work. That's what I'm after, but only thinning out the foxes right now. What are you using for bait? I'm using Caven's "canine force" in the dirt hole and a little coyote urine on my backing.

Using Caven's yodel dog, some kind of beaver meat bait (from caven's too I think) and Fox urine on the backing. Might need to get some yote pee and try it. New to trapping (not counting coons and hogs). A friend gave me some traps and I just got started with 2 of them about 3 weeks ago. Caught 3 greys so far. Would like to get some yotes and cats too. I could do better if I got them further in the swamp, but keeping them close to the main road at our club so I can check them real fast on my way to work in the mornings. redkneck
The bait is blackie's blend. Going to mix it up on them in another week if I dont have a coyote by then. May make some cat sets too.

too_pointer
You did great, CONGRATS :walkman: I know very little about trapping, but have 2 friends who are nuts about it. I may have to hook up with them next season too_
