Strut10
Watching Bill on Realtree Outdoors right now on the Outdoor Channel. He's in Texas trying to stick a 7x6 whitetail with an arrow. Is it just me, or are the blurred panels on either side of the TV picture really annoying ?? I noticed this last week. Don't like it. Dawg
I noticed that a couple of weeks ago and I do agree, it is really annoying.

BowtechTurkeyHunter
Sorry thats not the only annoying thing about the show ... the narration stinks .... I mean seriously lol its like watching a kids show with the narration. the blury sides are annoying for sure but its all part of it I guess. I just chalk this up to another on of the shows that is fake and about selling a sponsorship ... tyler shoots a nice 10 and his dad says lets lay the TC on this big deer ... I mean they just put up his gear list we dont need all the commercialization. Real hunting gets farther with me for sure. Steve
Ohiobucks
Doesn't it have something to do with standard definition filming shown on a high definition platform? ESPN will do the same thing when showing pre-HD highlights now, but instead of blurring the sides, they fill it with vertical ESPN signage. Annoying, yes.... If you don't take care of your sponsors, they won't take care of you. It's a no-brainer Steve

The blurring of the sides is exactly that, a fix for the switch from Standard Def to High Def Television. It's considered to be less intrusive to the viewer as opposed to blacked out sides or a continuous Advertisement dropped into the entire show. That's nonsense.....not what you said but that the blurry edges are better than plain black. It makes me motion sick....the blurry part still gives the feeling of movement behind it. Definitely go black please! New

Watch one of their new shows and when they re-live past hunts, that is when you will see the blurred sides. Again, watch ESPN, they do the same thing. Annoying, yes. Yes, the Outdoor Channel show is nothing more than repeats. I will be glad when Realtree leaves ESPN.
Dawg
Hopefully Realtree will see the concerns of it's viewers and do something about it. If not, I'll just keep watching Bill Dance catch big fish after big fish and then trip over something and fall in the water.
buckee
I think, by the sounds of it, that technology is moving faster that our pocket books can keep up. It seems that way with a lot of things these days.

need2hunt
the up resolution features where they take standard definition DV and make them HD are not acceptable? Nope, everything must be HDV or HD for Outdoor Channel I believe, other channels are making the move as well.
