doubledrop
Whats the deal with alot of the forum members not being happy with the forums these days? I have only been a member for a few years now so I don know what it "use to be like", however I do know what it is like now. I personally do not have a problem with anyone or anything on here. I enjoy getting on here looking at peoples posts/pictures and replying to a few now and then and as a bonus I have made a few friends along the way. I hope I dont get to much stirred up with this thread, but think about how many of us would miss it if it were gone. I think its a great place to be and I will continue getting on here because the Realtree forums relate to what I love doing and that is everything that has to do with the great outdoors. Texan_Til_I_Die
Too many people have trouble telling the difference between what's real and what's virtual. And of course they don't know they have that problem, or it wouldn't be a problem.
Tominator
http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103912 Sums up 99% of the problem IMHO.
92xj
I dont really see the people complainging making an effort to change things. I know if I come across something I dont like or I feel is wrong, I make any and all effort I can to change it. I have heard a few comments of people not enjoying the fact that other members read their threads but do not post responses in it. To me, thats kinda a sad thing to complain about, but I am trying to make an effort to respond in threads that I have an opinion about so people dont get their little ol' feelings hurt because people arent responding to their threads. There has also been mention of bashing or being a 'flammer'. I personally have not really seen any of this, or if I have its been so small that I dont consider it bashing or flaming. I dont get how some grown people act the way they do around here, but that's their problem, not mine. I enjoy these forums and will continue to enjoy them. I post my opinions, read other's opinions and go about my day. I don't let jack get to me from what people say on here and surely dont ponder it once I'm off the forums. Bottom line, If they dont like it and not willing to make an effort to change something, leave. I'll be darned if I stay some place I dont like if I'm not even going to put in the slightest effort to try and change something. It's time to put on our big boy/girl panties, take a step in the right direction, make a change that we see fit and have fun in here. Its really not that hard to have fun, enjoy each other, tell tales, share stories and live a little bit.
wtnhunt
Don't have a problem here myself, can always "tune out" what I don't have to listen to if I choose to, I know we still have a great bunch here despite some of the recent drama and I am not going anywhere. Afraid some of the problems/tension for some may in part be a bit of cabin fever for some members, dunno. Since you made mention some obviously have not been here long enough to know that there was time that there was enough drama that I believe Scott considered actually shutting the forums down. Hope it would never come to that.
stevebeilgard
i can easily "tune out" the disruptions and look at the positives. this is still the best spot on the internet, even though there are waves from time to time. I agree Steve, I tend to tune out just about everything now. If I read something that frustrates me, I just ignore it. Whenever I do feel this place is a bit out of hand (which really isn't often) I just go visit another forum and it makes me realize how nice this place is to have. You want to see how poorly a site is ran and how this place would end up if it wasn't for these moderators we have...go to Michigan-Sportman.com. Trust me, it'll make everyone here who complains appreciate what we have here a whole lot more. doubledrop
same here with me, I dont let things get to me. to be quite honest anything posted here is not aimed at me personally and there for it doesnt bother me. I was just curious because somebody left and sounded a little bitter about it and others followed that said they felt the same way. bottom line not sure how it offends alot of people if it is not directed right at that person. Dawg
I'd be lying if I said I haven't thought about leaving as well. I talk myself out of it though. There are parts of the forums I like and some I don't, just gotta take the bad with the good and the good with the bad. The ignore button works great. Turkeygirl
Some people don't like change, some do. The only constant thing about change is change. The one thing forums, email, texting etc, is that someone can type something to mean one thing and it can be interpreted completely different. There seems to be the tendency to just type first, think later. This is still my favorite forum. Everyone has problems....we are no better than any other dysfunctional family, but we can try LOL:-p

See, you're using the "common sense" approach too much.... Some can't do that, or won't do that, or don't have a clue how to do that. See? Now I've went and said too much. :taped:

Gator
Guess I'm one of those that have seen a "change" here. I see people cussin, why theres one in this thread. People making smart remarks to others, that a couple of years ago, probably would not have happened. Heck, I've done, and gotten "talked" to, yet I see the same ones doing it over and over. I've seen folks that will "insult" some but in a way that it doesn't sound like. Those same ones will post something "borderline", then when called on, they play "innocent", saying "oh I'm sorry, that's NOT what I meant" (insert appropriate smiley here). Then you have what I started calling robin hood and his band of merry men, you know, a "clique", the ones that when there is something said against them, they run to their buddies for support. I've probably said to much, and this will probably get deleted, but I truly don't care. I've said it before and I'll say it again, things here HAVE changed, I just don't know what. And I see it, and I'm haven't been on here nearly as much in the last year as I have in years past.

The more I see it, its more about how good the admins feel about themselves, its like their own little playground. Not all of them, just a few that think they are above the rest of us. I learned first hand when I got sick and tired about the little bickering going on between two groups of gun users! Made the comment about why we cant all just get along! BOY! You would have thought that I just killed someone! I was arrested and thrown away for life! That is what a few people wanted though! LOL! There is a big clique on these forums, I am happy to say I am not apart of it either! So much that I wasn't even allowed to know what certain abbreviations in some posts meant. I wasn't born yesterday, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they mean either! This place used to be a place for HUNTERS of all kinds to get together, share stories, pictures, and advice! Now I see guys like Andy asking for his account to be deleted! Why??? I am far from being a very religious person, but for Andy to get this upset and just leave. Something must have been wrong. I have met him a few times, in just one meeting with him you could tell he was true. I used to live and breathe this place. It was my home page, desktop, truck plates, everyday clothing, and life. Heck, I almost decided to get rid of all my other camo and just drop a ton of money just have have nothing but REALTREE!!! But the chance of divorce was in the back of my mind. I knew my wife would not understand this obsession about a certain camo! Gratefully I woke up! But then, I am a nobody here, my words do nothing but fall on deaf ears until I strike a nerve. Then actions are being taken! I thought about posting something about this for a few days. Gator's post actually made me sign in and type! Then again, these words might get me banned because they are a strike against the admins. So be it. If they can make their comments knowned to us, we should be allowed also back to them without repercussion! clrj3514
I've been staying out of these discussions but I'm gonna throw in my 2 cent. You may not think it's my place since I'm a "minor" but oh well, I'm a member just like everyone else and I am therefore entitled to an opinion. Whether or not you believe this place has changed or not, that happens. Things change, grow up & get used to it. Put ya big boy/girl undies on and accept it. Did I wanna wreck my truck & break my neck? Heck no! But you know, life changes, crap happens, suck it up! Nothing stays the same, it's life. If you don't like the way it is, leave. Nobody says you have to stay! It's your mouse that clicks onto these forums, not anyone else. I've never seen grown men whine, gripe, complain, & cry so much in my life! If you discover that you don't like being somewhere, it's your prerogative to stay or go. You are your OWN person, nobody owns you. Delete if you find innappropriate, I don't care. Gator
Something else I noticed, ALOT of people's birthdays going to the wayside. There was a time when NOONE"S was missed.... CLRJ, you are correct, we don't have to come here, but there is also a saying that goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it..", well seems to me and others that SOMETHING is wrong, so we WANT to fix it, if possible
