Mach1
Had freezing rain today. Maybe 1/4" of ice on some surfaces so far. It's supposed to kick back in tomorrow morning and add up to 1" of ice and then change over to snow and maybe get 8-12" of that. An hour north of here is 12-24" of snow with locally heavier spots. An hour south is 1"+ of ice and then 2-4" of snow. We're just getting rid of the 10-14" of snow we had about two weeks ago. Then the wind is kicking in up to 40 mph or so and the temperature is plummeting with lows below zero Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Gator
Woke up around midnight to sleet, sounded like rain it was coming down so hard. Don't know how much snow we have so far, but as it gets later, it's supposed to get worse. Winds are gusting in the 30mph range, with the strongest in the state 58. Talking about possible drifts in the 3-4' range. Guess I may get out and break a trail to the hiway later, and clean the show off the porch so I can get out of the house. We are supposed to hit 0 think Thursday morning.
wtnhunt
Our frost line is only 18" too. Most lines are 24" and deeper. Water doesnt freeze too often if you keep the well house warm and leave the water running. Yep. When it is bad here I put a heat lamp on in the well house on a timer, seems to work well. Looks like the timing for this round will have us just seeing high winds rain and then the falling temps. Not calling for frozen precip here now. ckrich
It's still blowing sideways here, visibility about a quarter of a mile. Just went outside and my car has a good foot and a half drift around it. Looks like there's at least 10 inches on the roads. The news is saying we've still got a few hours til it lets up. Another half hour and I'll know if I have to attempt to go into work or not!
Jeramie
We had sleet until just after 3:00.... i was up. We ended up with 3/4" of sleet. It then turned to snow and is coming in sideways. Getting deep too. I almost didnt get my door open. We have some drifts in our yard a couple of feet deep easily and its still whiteout conditions. Tominator
Round 1 gave us about a quarter inch of ice, closed nearly everything. Most of the morning was calm, but now it's starting up again. Supposed to get more ice, then rain, then ice and a little snow overnight. 2 days off? Tominator
Are they still days off, or are you into the make up days yet? Today is our last day Tommy. Any more and we will have to make them up, unless Kasich trumps Strickland again, which I think he likes doing, lol.

MCH
Lucked out down here in Southeast Oklahoma. It's cold and windy, but not much precipitation has fallen. And not much predicted for the rest of the day.

It was funny, maybe funny isnt the best choice of words, but it thundered while it snowed and sleeted last night. The last time that happened was in 2007 in our major ice storm that left something like 200,000 without power. We didnt sleep last night once the thunder started. ckrich
That sleet last night picked up fast once it started thundering. We've got some good sized drifts here in the parking lot in front of my apartment, and about 12-14" on the ground. The news is showing quite a few stranded cars out on 169. This OHP is out trying to push people with their cruisers, while others are being loaded up and taken somewhere. I wish I knew someone with a snowmobile so I could get out and have some fun in this stuff.

You guys out there have to be all messed up from the weather.
fly
I'm 1 hour from St. Louis. Getting hammered right now! Worst ice storm I can remember. Going to buy a space heater now in case power goes out when the 12 inches of snow hits in a couple hours.
need2hunt
We have just had some light snow so far, but the wind kicked up about an hour ago and it's basically a white out. Cant tell whats falling from the sky or getting kicked off the ground. Kids are home early from school and they have also canceled school for tomorrow so they are happy
fly
Forecast has changed from 12 inches to 7 tonight. Guess the wind is supposed to be the real threat now. Gusts up to 40mph may cause some power lines to fall. We'll see???

Shaun_300
It's hitting us tomorrow morning, around 8 inches expected for us. Looking forward to a good snowstorm!
Mach1
Not as bad here about 35 minutes northeast of downtown St. Louis as what they thought. We've got about 2 inches of sleet and then maybe 2 inches of snow on that so far as of midnight. Earlier on Tuesday morning they were forecasting 8-12 inches of snow and I don't think we're getting anywhere close to that as the radar shows that the snow is close to being done. Nut
They told us at work as we clocked out that we would be shut down today. The sons were told that to not come in if it was a level 3. It is level 3. The wind made it difficult to get sleep but we are lucky enough to still have power. It helps that it was not as bad as they made it out to be.
