need2hunt
I have few questions for you concerning hunting channels. What hunting channels do you get? (Outdoor Channel, Sportsmens Channel, Pursuit Channel, Versus, WildTV, etc) and could you please list them in the order of watch most to watch least. Past the amount of time that you watch a channel, do you feel that some channels are at higher quality levels than others, if so could you list them in order of highest quality to least? Do you watch shows live or do you DVR them? Do you spend more of your free time watching television or on the internet? Do you watch hunting shows on the internet, and if so do you watch the whole show or only parts of it? Thanks!
Ravin R10 man
I watch The Outdoor Channel most Sportsmans ch. when it's free Spend more time on RT site than watching tv never record any of the shows or watch on internet Tired of all the 'cookie cutter" shows...and reading lips because they all whisper even after the shot! I'd rather they have a narrator like Buckmasters did. I find myself watching Dr Stanely, Adrian Rodgers, Hal Lindsay, John Hagee more these days
wtnhunt
We get versus and pursuit with our direct package and pay extra for the outdoor channel. Most of the hunting shows we watch are on the outdoor channel. I don't normally dvr the shows, but have on occasion. Spend more time on these forums than I do watching hunting shows. Don't think I have ever watched a full show on the internet.
Shaun_300
We only get WildTV here Gary, wish we got the outdoor channel too! I like the channel, don't watch it as much as I did when we first got it but still flip it on a few times a week to watch a few shows. I spend most of me free time on the internet. Mainly on these forums.
Jorden
I watch the outdoor channel as thats all we get. The only other channel I have seen is versus and outdoor channel is WAY better. I DVR shows cause I dont have time to watch them live...or on DVR for that matter, I still have shows from the summer I have to watch...I spend more of my free time watching tv than on the internet. I have never watched any hunting shows on the internet...not even sure where you can?? Edited February 1, 2011 by Jorden
Mach1
1. Outdoor Channel, Sportsman, Versus (NHL games too), Pursuit, since it's more seasonal ESPN Outdoors comes in last 2. Since I'm currently unemployed and am a stay-at-home parent, I probably watch 1-2 hours of outdoor/hunting programming per day. For outdoor/hunting programming I'd rate them like this: Outdoor, and then the other three are basically the same. ESPN Outdoors (in the fall) would be right below the Outdoor Channel. Some channels have more shows that I prefer to watch. At times I have a hard time finding shows to watch on Pursuit. 3. Both 4. Watch TV while I'm on the internet most of the time 5. Not frequently, but have before
Dawg
1. Sportsman, Outdoor, Versus, ESPN, and there are a few that come on the local channels. 2. Depends on what is showing. Outdoor and ESPN seem to have higher quality. 3. Both 4. 85/15 5. No
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
1. Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel, Versus, local channels. 2. It really depends on the time of year and if I am the hunting mood or not. When I do get the itch and start watching I probably watch more on the outdoor channel but the sportsman channel is a close second. 3. Both. If I can catch them live I watch them, but I also have the DVR set to record a couple of my favorites. Outdoor channel to me has the higher quality shows, then Sportsman Channel. 4. Do you mean more time watch hunting shows on TV or the internet, or just surfing the internet in general? I watch more shows on TV, but I am also usually on the computer at the same time. I definitely spend more time over all on the internet. 5. The only show I have watched on the internet is Heartland Bowhunter. Great production, footage, and high quality. I'll tape one now and then, but it is rare Equal time...the TV is on now. I watch a few on the internet. It depends on the show to how long I'll watch.. I get Outdoor Channel, ESPN2, and see that Dish Network is offering a new channel lately The Hunt Channel. The Outdoor Channel gets 95% of my viewing. 2. I like the Outdoor channel the best. 3. I try to watch them live but I usually record my favorites. 4. I spend more free time on the internet because my kids hog the tv. 5. I like Realtree.tv but they need to update some of the shows. I've watched every episode of Archers Choice.
pointing_dogs_rule
Sportsman channel. Outdoor channel had turned me off.... too much hype. Give me some basic average Joe hunting and that's what the Sportsman channel does. good luck to all the dog
Alisha
1. We only get WildTV..... not sure if any of the other channels are offered. 2. Our TV channel is almost always on WildTV, unless it's a repeat. 3. We watch them live, don't have DVR, but if we did, I'd definitely DVR certain shows that come on late. 4. Equal. We have a laptop in our living room that we use while the TV is on. (Hey! Blondes CAN do two things at once. ha ha!) 5. I've only watched clips of hunting shows online, on sites like youtube, etc..
