Orion_70
The solunar tables seem to be pretty spot on when it comes to fishing. Not quite as accurate when it comes to hunting. I still take them into account now though, even if it's just to make me feel better about sitting out there longer.
Norm Sauceman
about 5%...When I go hunting, I am going hunting...Does not matter if they are really moving or are supposed to be.. I just love going out.
Adjam5
A full moon makes me sleep in and hunt the middle of the day. Like 10 to 2. I rarely see deer during early morning and late pm hunts with a full moon. So...Yes...The moon phase does dictate my deer hunts.
stevebeilgard
for over 40 years as an outfitter, i was forced to hunt by the calander and could pay no attention to the moon. so, i just hunted ranches loaded with game. in the 70's and 80's i'd see 1000 head a day. in the mid 90's to present it was more like 300-500. times are tougher now but the calander is still the same. ruttinbuc
I hunt when I can paying attention to the moon. There are too many variables out there to take all of the moon guides to heart. I have seen them to be close to the times they list or nowhere near it. The best trigger to see unpressed deer in the daytime is temperature. Too bad that is not as constant as te moon phases or we'd have someone selling a guide for that.
Leo
Sometimes the moon is important. Sometimes other things take precedence. Weather is a good one. Full moon usually means more night time movement and less daytime movement. If it's overcast all night than the full moon doesn't seem to affect daylight movement as much. Heavy rain during the rut sometimes make deer anxious to freshen scrapes up as soon as it stops. For that matter a really rut crazed buck doesn't care what time it is. That being said, if the moon is the strongest variable. It is wise to pay attention to it.
