Dawg
Found this Carl Schlieper knife. Never have heard of this brand. Looks like it has an eye on the blade. I can't make out the model number completely but it starts out with 99 and looks to have a r and a y at the end. Anyone know anything about these? hammerforged
Geesh - I should be so lucky. Pre-WWII - the best of the best for the working man coming out of Solingen, Germany. How is the blade, any pitting or much surface rust? How is the action, still have good snap to it or is it gummy? Any cracks in the Delrin handles? What pot of gold did you find this in? m gardner
It looks like an old "Sodbuster" style knife and I believe they still make them for $50.00 or so. It's made of carbon steel so of course there's some rust. Clean it up and use it. Nice knife. Here's a link to some new ones. http://www.jaysknives.com/germaneyeknives.htm Edited February 5, 2011 by m gardner

Blade is in good shape, no pitting, just a bit of surface rust, still has a good edge. The action has a good snap to it One small crack in the handle, doesn't go all the way through the handle. Can't give away the location of the pot of gold, might ruin it all.
