redkneck
To transfer my old Sony Hi8 cassettes to digital? I bought an LG dvd converter a few years ago, but if it hickups one time it stops the whole process of burning DVDs. I got a few tapes with "hiccups". Would like to save all the old cassettes in digital format.
Strut10
I'm doing all mine just by playing them in the video camera through the DVD player/recorder I have hooked to the TV. Time consuming. But works well.
ruttinbuc
It depends on how bad you need to get the stuff off of those cassettes, I guess. The cheaper converters are undependable. There are converters made by Grass Valley for a couple hundred bucks that are pretty good. http://www.grassvalley.com/products/converters The ADVC 55 and 110 get good reviews. redkneck
Thanks guys. Mike I'm not in a hurry, just want to make copies digitally so I can back them up in case of fire. I would be ok with all of them on DVD format, but they scratch so easily.
wtnhunt
Guess if you had the time and a pc with the inputs you could capture them to your pc and then burn to dvd or even a blue ray with whatever authoring software you have, but that would be time consuming and would take some space. Otherwise would probably do like Don suggested, our dvd recorder/vcr took a dump though. Don't know about much those converters.
Adjam5
John I set up my dig cam in front of the TV to record what I did not have the tools/equipment to do professionally with. It did not come out too bad. A cheap alternative to buying expensive items for conversion. Yes, it is a very cheap and amateurish way to do it..But Hey waht are our rednecks for? Adjam5
Haha! Nice work around Anthony, did you duct tape the cam in any way? btw.... how is the axis meat? Just curious the comparison to whitetail. Much sweeter than whitetail. Axis prefer grass and eat corn mainly in the winter when there is no grass. The chop meat I have mixed with 20% brisket. Makes some really great burgers and meat loafs. Here is a pic of a whitetail and axis back strap side by side, from my axis hunt 2 years ago. Axis on left. Which looks more tender?
