slb9981
Guys, I would really appreciate your help. I've never owned any decent binoculars only a $100 pair of Bushnell. My budget is $500. I've read numerous post that the Swarovski are the best but I just cannot afford to spend $2000. I went to Bass Pro yesterday and looked the the older Mojave's and the Nikon's. It was very hard to tell anything in the store but I did notice a little better quality with the Mojave's and really liked the open bridge. The salesman tried to steer me to the Nikon's cause theyre $100 cheaper and the no fault warranty being better than the Leupold warranty. They did not have the new Mojave's and won't until June. Cabelas and optics planet both show them in stock. I like the Mojave's better and think I would be better off getting the newer Mojave's but I've never looked through them outside or in low light conditions. Has anyone compared the two in these situations which do you prefer? Secondly, I've almost decided to get the new Mojave's in the BX3 and after searching I noticed that Optics Planet has them in a 10x50. Which would I be better off with the 42 or 50? The price difference wasn't much roughly $20-40 bucks. Guys I really appreciate the information.
wtnhunt
Which would I be better off with the 42 or 50? The 50 mm objective will obviously gather more light and should be brighter. As far as the leupold comparison to the nikon I have not personally looked through the leupold's so cannot speak for them. We do have a pair of monarch's in 8x42, no complaints about the nikon's at all.
need2hunt
What are you going to be hunting with them? If your going to be hunting for deer and turkey then I don't know if I could substantiate an extra $100. If your doing a lot of long range glassing or hunts that require constant glassing to find the game then that might be a different story. I've used the Monarch and the Monarch X and have had no problems with either. I haven't compared them to the other ones your looking at but can tell you that the monarchs have covered all my hunting needs.

wtnhunt
Just deer and turkey hunting and riding around in the truck scouting during the off season primarily. Sent my wife and daughter to Alaska with the Nikons in 2009 and last fall my daughter and I went to Wyoming and used them there too. For what we used them for in Wyoming I was pretty happy with the nikon optics, might have been nice to have had a 10 power since I did not have a spotter, but the 8's worked out ok. Flintlock1776
I like the larger objective. Check out Vortex optics as well.
