fly
This weekend was the 2011 Deer Classic in Collinsville IL (just outside st. Louis). We go almost every year and each year it gets a little better. This year Ralph and Vickie were there as well as a Reptile guy that walked around allowing kids to see some really neat animals. The usual trout pond, shooting gallery, and deer sausage/jerky sampling. Also an archery contest (I'd never enter, but like to watch). There were some seminars on bear hunting I found useful this year. It's not as big as some of the others, but I find it a lot of fun. Got my December buck measured and will post "official" results in the Deer hunting room. You may recall the guessing contest - Stone Cold won. See if you were closer to the official score. Flintlock1776
Great pics! How many years has the show been going on? I do not recall the show when I lived back in Ballwin, Mo some time back.
Shaun_300
Great pics! Looks like the kids had a great time too. They have a lot more nerves than me letting those snakes hang off them.
Mach1
I was there on Saturday for a bit. Nice little show. Saw Ralph C. was on him camo crutches. Anybody know what happened? Also saw your buck on display. There were a couple 200 inchers on display too when I was there.
fly
Great pics! How many years has the show been going on? I do not recall the show when I lived back in Ballwin, Mo some time back. The flyer says 2011 is the 13th annual show so the first show would have been in 1998. I didn't go until the early 2000's. Yea, I went Friday and Saturday so I figured I'd leave the rack there since you get free admission as long as you have a display there. I didn't see any 200 inchers Saturday morning, but there were some beautiful 180's and 190's.
MUDRUNNER
I've been to it the past few years, but decided to pass this year. It seems like the same old stuff year after year, but looks like they added a little more kids stuff this year. I would've liked to have met Ralph and Vicki. Now I wish I would've went LOL. I knew that would happen.

The 200 inchers were close together on the display wall facing the entrance. If I remember correctly, they had identical final scores, something like 201 1/8. Saw those 180 & 190 deer too. Not the amount of deer that you see at the state show, but the quality was there.

wtnhunt
Would like to meet Ralph and Vicki. Too bad St Louis isn't a little closer for us. Sounds like it was a good show Frank.
need2hunt
Saw Ralph C. was on him camo crutches. Anybody know what happened? In the Fall of 2009 Ralph tore 2 ligaments in his knee, he had surgery in the spring of 2010 and had them replaced with cadaver ligaments. In the fall of 2010 he either damaged or re-tore one of the replaced ligaments and went back in for surgery to have it fixed.

Hope all is going well with him and wish him a speedy recovery.
