dbHunterNY
So I shot a Mathews Z7 Magnum last night at a local pro shop called Havoc Archery here in the Albany, NY area. I shot it basically as a bare bow; only a D-loop and whisker biscuit rest were installed. The standard factory Z7 accessories were on it as well. The bow didn't feel heavy at all compared to others with it's ATA. Same as a lot of the newer bows this year holding it in your bow hand, undrawn, it felt a tad top heavy and wanting to tip foward slowly. When shooting it, it was completely dead in the hand and quiet. I was shooting something close to your standard hunting arrow at 8.9 gpi, I think. Most of your new bows will be. However, when compared to other Z-Series bows it did hold a lot better at full draw. With the longer ATA length you definitely notice it's not as easy to cant left or right compared to say the Xtreme version. Without figures or chrono numbers to post that's all I got. All in all it's one of my favorite new bows out. If it shoots true to it's specs of 340 fps IBO, then it would be a nice bow try out if your in the market for a new one or not. ....here's a link to the bow I'm talking about. http://mathewsinc.com/product/z7-magnum/#specs Edited February 22, 2011 by dbHunterNY
jcot2773
Never understood why it is called a magnum... same ATA as most other bows on the market lol. But I agree the magnum did shoot a lot better than the extreme
