jed1226
I am clearing a spot to do a small food plot. There are some trees that I dont want to kill, I just want to kill the undergrowth. It is mainly some grass and some cactuses. I want to kill them and any other stuff laying dormant. What chemical do yall recomend and when should i spray it. How long should I wait to plant after it. Thank you,
wtnhunt
Depending on the age and type of the trees glyphosate(roundup) should be safe and should be effective although I am not real sure about the cactus. I would not spray this early here. I usually will spray about 3 weeks or so before planting and then spray a second time a week later. I prefer to wait a week or so after the last time I spray before planting.

I'd ask someone locally though before wasting money on something that is ineffective. Lynn
dogdoc
yep---roundup/glyphosate is the way to go. Will not hurt any of the trees unless you spray it on the foliage.
