jcwa
The other day I was looking around Bass pro looking at the turkey calls and turkey decoys. One of the turkey decoys really stuck out, it was the most realistic decoy I have ever seen. I really liked the look of the decoy but there are a few things I didn't like about it. For one it's heavy and it's an inflatable bladder type of decoy. I have always used the Feather Flex decoys and like the ease if use and setup. But never liked the look of the decoys. What do you think? Would you like a realistic looking decoy or a decoy thats easyer to setup? Here's a link to the Zink calls decoy http://www.basspro.com/Zink-Calls-LCD-(Lifelike-Collapsible-Decoy)-Lookout-Hen-Turkey-Decoy/product/10210766/-1751361
Ethan Givan
That is a great looking decoy. I believe I saw them at the NWTF convention a couple weekends ago. If money isnt an issue then I would rather have a realistic decoy even if its a little bulky. That being said, I have had success with Feather Flex decoys, inflatable decoys, and no decoys, so I dont know that I would personally be willing to pay $80 for a single hen decoy. I did aquire a Pretty Boy and Pretty Girl decoy set, and they look amazing especially when I put a real fan on the gobbler. They are extremely cumbersome but they will go to the field with me alot. Ive had alot of fun hunting with strutting gobbler decoys in the past.
Nut
I've always used the easy to set up decoys. However I rarely use them because of the way I hunt and set up.
Flintlock1776
Sometimes the things they sell in hunting stores is to catch hunters more than game:jaw: I have lots of decoys too, as I have been lured within wallet range.:stretcher: I do like the hen decoy. I have scared away Toms with Tom decoys but a single hen has worked the trick the past two years for me.
Chester
Saw them at the big show in Nashville this year. They look good, thinking about getting me on of those feeding hen.
jcwa
I'll be heading back to Bass Pro this morning. I'm still haven't made up my mind what decoys I want to get.
need2hunt
I rarely hunt with decoys. Just seems on the properties i hunt that they scare off 10 times more birds than they draw in. The only ones I have seen work consistently are strutting tom decoys. I like the looks of that decoy but I wouldn't buy one.
jcwa
Well I bit the bullet and bought the Zink calls decoys. They are great looking decoys but there going back. One of them leaks alittle and the PVC support tube inside of the decoy was broken loose from the top of the decoy and the decoy won't stay strait. Besides, I got to thinking, one pellet from a shot would ruin it. so it's back to Bass Pro. I'll just get the Red Head turkey decoys. ruttinbuc
That is a lot of money for a decoy. I guess it falls in line with the rest of the hype out there.
