ilhnter
Well deer season has officially ended. Went yesterday and took down a few lock on stands and moved a few ladder stands to hopefully better locations. Also did a little scouting and looking around. Jumped 5 or 6 and saw plenty of sign in the area. Its all over until August when the lock on stands go back up.
toddyboman
OVER......its NEVER over.. Shed hunting, end of season scouting, freshen up mineral sites, food plot work, summer scouting, shooting bow, trim shooting lanes, rehang stand, set new ones out, and back to sitting in stands..... :D:D:D
Tominator
Pulled my one and only stand off my neighbor Sunday. It's shed season now. Bow season kind of blew this year. Shot possibilities were way down for me. I blew 2 opportunities early in the season so that's my own fault, but after early October the shot chances on shooter bucks were zero, same for does. Turkeygirl
Same boat as me Chris...bow season was not what it's been in the past...shotgun season down the drain as usual. But ditto toddy! shed season, food plot, trail cameras....it doesn't stop:)
MUDRUNNER
I need to get out and pull a few stands and do some scouting myself. I'm waiting to get a few dry days so that things dry out a little. The ground is so saturated and creeks are so high now I can't even get to any of my hunting spots. ilhnter
wish it was nonstop. We don't own the land we hunt so no food plots and we had trail cams stolen so don't mess with those at this farm anymore. I would love to be able to plant food plots and check trail cams and make deer season a year long process, but right now it doesn't work out. I agree, bow season was horrible for us in Southern IL. We didn't even start seeing deer move until early November. I think the hot weather and the tons of acorns hurt the hunting a lot. I only drew my bow one time this year and didn't get a shot off. Shotgun season went really well though, we filled 5 out of 6 tags.

Flintlock1776
Well I hope you had a good season. I did. One doe, one 6 ptr; one 9ptr. Turkey season will be our next distraction:toot:
Shaun_300
Our season was done December 15th. You guys are lucky to have that long of a season! Had a good year though, got to see my best friend take his first deer. I was more excited than he was I think.
Crew999
Our deer season is over Dec.6...it is a long wait. But Dec.7 is the first day of scouting and shedding season, and then there is ice fishing season, then varmint season and serious shedding season, then ice fishing season, then open water fishing, then elk, moose and finally deer season again....ahhh, life is good, lol. Ultradog
It's never really over I just got 4 new shovels for an old field cultivator I bought at an auction last fall. Will get them installed as soon as the snow goes down that i can find the cultivator. Hoping to try an old trick on a new deer plot this year. Still have venison in the freezer and was over at my buddy's place this week and ordered the goods to load some trick rounds for my .270. And I haven't watched my newest Monster Bucks CDs but a couple of times. Naw, it aint over. A little lull in the action but not over...
