toddyboman
I was watching an episode of growing deer.tv this week and they use reconyx cameras.....Anyways they was talking about Reconyx's buckview software. This software organized the pictures, mapped them out and some other stuff.....REALLY COOL stuff. But I don't have a reconyx camera SO does anyone know or have any idea if there is anything else like this out there???? Here is the reconyx link to their stuff if anyone wants to check it out... http://www.reconyx.com/page.php?id=
wtnhunt
Pretty sure there is Todd. Know I saw something in a cabelas catalog a few years back that did just what you are talking about but do not off the top of my head remember the exact name of the program. seems like it was buckspy or something like that. hoosierhunter
I have a reconyx and to my knowledge there is no way to get their software without buying the camera. It is pretty awesome though and they have came out with some really nice updates including the hitlist and the newest which is the x-pattern software which is completely insane. Just may be worth the inqury .. hoosierhunter
It's really not worth purchasing the software without a camera because the hitlist and x-pattern will not work with another cameras pics. You can load others into it, but I can say I wouldn't spend the money on the software without having a camera to go with it.

As for the buckspy people I think they are either going out of business or having serious problems......There site still says they are under server maintenance It's really not worth purchasing the software without a camera because the hitlist and x-pattern will not work with another cameras pics. You can load others into it, but I can say I wouldn't spend the money on the software without having a camera to go with it. Curiosity here....but why won't other pictures work with the hitlist or x-pattern features? Any idea??
hoosierhunter
Reconyx has set it up that way on purpose. The functions aren't accessible. I don't know if it has something to do with the meta data or not. My guess is that they want you buying their cameras to use their software. Although they should just charge 300 bucks for unlocked software and get money that way too.
hoosierhunter
I can say that I highly and I mean highly recommend reconyx. I run cuddes as well and honestly there just isn't any comparison and that includes trigger/detection zone as well. It's just amazing what a reconyx will pick up that a cudde won't. I get 3 times the triggers and I can't even say how much more battery life. In the long run I think the Reconyx would save you money. It might take two years to do it, but in the longer run they can't be beat.

From a business stand point it makes sense to only allow your photos work.......But it would also make sense to sell the software and allow all photos to work.....is what it is. Oh trust me I want one......Watching growingdeer.tv has sold me on how great they are......but that price is crazy......Maybe one day I will just take the plunge and buy one

BuckView / MapView / SecurityView | RECONYX, Inc. Check out WISE trail camera software. It syncs your images with weather/moon so you can pattern your deer, and it also helps with the deer management aspect -- trail camera surveys, buck-to-doe ratio, fawn recruitment etc. W.I.S.E. | Trail/Game Camera Software | Pattern Deer | Deer Management

jonlivingston
A little late to this post but I wanted to point out DeerLab.com as another option to manage and analyze your trail camera photos. DeerLab works with every digital trail camera and is web-based so it doesn't matter if you have a PC or Mac. Some features include: Automated Trail Camera Reports Basically DeerLab aggregates all the data from each camera and tells you averages for times deer are active. This includes the various moon phases as well. Additional Weather Data For each photo the following is added: wind direction, wind speed, barometric pressure, sunrise and sunset times, humidity, visibility, temperature, and moon phase (even if your camera doesn't have these features). The additional data is pulled from over 20,000 weather stations. Smart Filtering of Photos All photos can be easily filtered by camera, weather, date, your tags, moon phases, wind direction, etc. Tagging Hit List Bucks Every photo can be tagged so you can easily view hit list bucks or group photos however you want (turkey, elk, bear, bucks, etc.) Mobile-Friendly Access all photos and reports from your phone, tablet or computer Weather Forecasts Every trail camera has an eight day forecast so you can see the best times to get in your stand. As a disclaimer I helped build DeerLab and this is only the beginning as we have a lot more in store. More detail can be found at DeerLab.com. Hope you like it!
