Swamphunter
Is there an all inclusive outfitter guide listed on the internet somewhere by chance? I am interested in a Russian wild boar hunt, within driving distance, but DO NOT want a canned hunt. Also interested possibly in alligator or something... who knows... just have the "itch".. lol

I guess Tioga's not an option but have heard of some "less canny" hunts in PA.
stevebeilgard
ken, i'd presonally start with cabelas and go with one of their guides. i've shot russian boar, and they are a very aggressive animal. they have to, by most states laws, be kept in a tight enclosed area. they are known to break out and cause destruction to neighbors property, especially to their domest hurd of pigs... lol. so, expect some type of "canned" hunt. some of these hunts are on thousands of acres, but most true russian boar hunts are canned. that said, there are escapee russian boars that have bred and there are ranchers wanting them all killed. maybe you can find just such a place. Swamphunter
I realize that Russian Boar hunts are mostly ranchs...I dont mean Im opposed to 1000 acre fenced hunt... I just dont want a penned animal...lol
RangerClay
As you know, we have these critters running wild in southern NY. http://blog.syracuse.com/outdoors/2009/12/cny_wild_boar_update_theyre_st.html http://www.cnycentral.com/news/news_story.aspx?id=152584 From what I hear & read, the DEC and landowners down there want them dead but the landowners don't want a bunch of drunk slobs wandering/trespassing on their property. If it were me, I would contact the regional DEC office. Find out some names of farmers who are getting crop damage and approach them so they know who you are. No guide fees with this hunt, just the price of fuel, food, and a motel room. I have been itching to give this a try sometime. If you need someone to ride shotgun just shoot me a PM and I will help with the research. Edited March 8, 2011 by RangerClay

Texan_Til_I_Die
We're starting to see more and more feral hogs around here showing what I would call Eurasian Boar characteristics. These are totally free range.
