Bow Hunter Derek
Re: Goobler Guillotine? I've used them. As I've explained here before, I shot and missed. It was a 20 MPH+ windy day and I took a 30 yard shot. Not a good decision on my part, but one I have to live with. Needless to say, the wind pushed the arrow about 4 inches off course and I cleanly missed the turkey (fortunately). I've shot them a bunch in my back yard and at small game. They fly well, especially in the 20 yard range. I've shot out to 30 and have faith in them. Just don't do it when the wind is blowing. I've shot a couple rabbits and a wood chuck with them and had DEVESTATING results. Needless to say none of them moved very far after being shot. As far as a blood trail goes, I can't see that being an issue. You hit a turkey solid in the head/neck and there will be no need for a blood trail. He'll go about 2 feet. As far as a body shot on a turkey, I would not try it. Turkeys are tough birds. I think if you shot one in the wing butt area like a traditional archery shot, you would probably only break a wing and maybe cut the bird a little. There are a lot of feathers there that will stop those blades. I'm sure the bird would end up dieing, but I think it would be a slow death and you certainly would not recover the bird. I'm certainly not going to take a body shot with one of these broad heads. I'm undecided if I'll use these broad heads this year. I have faith in them, but I may take the more traditional route with a large mechanical and a body shot.
